Simone Biles frantically fixes her hair and makeup at 2024 Olympic gymnastics finals - hours after she SLAMMED trolls for making fun of her appearance

Simone Biles was seen furiously fixing her hair at the Olympic finals - hours after she slammed trolls for making fun of her tresses.

The gymnast, 27, helped Team USA earn its first team gold medal in artistic gymnastics since 2016 during the 2024 Games in Paris on Tuesday.

During the event, the acclaimed athlete was spotted pausing to make sure that her locks looked good between events.

Simone whipped out a small, handheld mirror to check on her appearance before reapplying makeup and smoothing out her hair, which had been pulled back in a tight bun.

Hours earlier, the Olympic gold medalist clapped back at haters who had branded her locks as a 'hot mess' at the qualifying event on Sunday.

Following the qualifier, X, formerly Twitter, was flooded with unkind posts about Simone's appearance - with one person claiming that she looked like she 'just rolled out of bed' and another tweeting that her hairstyle was 'sloppy.'

'Don't come for me about my hair,' Simone scathed in a video posted to her Instagram Stories this morning.

The sports star explained that while she had her hair 'done' before the event, she had to take a 45-minute bus ride in the extreme heat with no air-conditioning.

'It was done but bus has no AC and it's like 9,000 degrees,' continued the gymnast, as she shared a video of herself sitting on the bus and holding a portable fan up to her face. 'Oh and it's a 45-minute ride.'

In a second post, she added, 'Gonna hold your hand when I say this. Next time you wanna comment on a black girl's hair, just don't.'

Team USA finished with an impressive winning score of 171.296 at the final on Tuesday.

Simone wowed on all three events - floor, beam, and vault - during the final, and helped secure the team's epic gold medal win, as her husband, football player Jonathan Owens, and an array of celebrities watched on.

Sports stars like Michael Phelps, Serena Williams, and Jason Kelce, who was joined by his wife, Kylie Kelce, were in the audience, as well as Hollywood A-listers like Spike Lee, Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, and Bill Gates.

She also impressed viewers and judges alike at the qualifier on Sunday - earning the highest scores on floor and vault, despite suffering from a calf injury.

But afterwards, social media users discussed her hairstyle in droves.

'I'm confused. Did Simone Biles purposely not do her hair? Every single gymnast clearly has their hair gel/sprayed down and in a tight beat appearance,' one critic wrote.

'Her bun is literally flopping around with pieces sloppy everywhere. It almost seems... on purpose. WTF.'

'Simone Biles hair never being done properly be pissing me off,' announced another hater.

'Everybody else on the team is put together, then she looks like she just rolled out of bed.'

'Simone Biles' hairstylist should be fired,' read a third tweet, while a fourth one said, 'Simone Biles really needs to have a word with whoever did her hair.'

Others, however, had Simone's back as one fan tweeted, 'I really wish people would stop talking about Simone's hair while she's actively breaking records.'

'If one more person asks why Simone Biles' hair is messy... She is quite literally flying and flipping in the damn air,' scathed a different user.

'Everyone worried about Simone's hair really is concerned about the wrong thing. Keep soaring queen,' gushed another supporter.

'I hate people, especially women, who comment on Simone Biles' hair,' wrote one person.

'Because y'all are not out there doing damn flips and winning medals.'
