A woman who cheered on the losing athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics has gone viral for her heartwarming gesture, which she said she did to bring the world together.

Hannah Hall, 20, spent her childhood in France and although she now lives in America, she jetted off to the Olympics to watch the talented sports stars at the height of their careers.

After she and her family won tickets to the sporting event through the Olympics lottery, they spent their days gawking at the jaw-dropping skills of the sports stars.

And while she loved seeing athletes from France and USA snag gold medals, she felt for the sports icons who went home disappointed after they didn't garner any wins.

So, she and her family decided to make sure that the losing athletes knew their talents didn't go unnoticed by roaring and clapping for them as they left the Olympics stage empty-handed.

Hannah showcased herself and her siblings cheering on the sports stars who didn't win medals in a now-viral clip posted to TikTok

The video, which has so far amassed over 960,000 views, showed the 20-year-old applauding the athletes as they walked past.

She said: 'Girlhood is clapping extra hard for the teams that lost.'

Hannah's kind gesture seemed to boost the spirits of the losing athletes as they smiled at her.

She captioned the clip: 'We were so sad for them and tried to cheer all of them on.'

People in the comments section praised Hannah for her sweet act as one person said: 'Bro to be in the Olympics is already a winner.'

Another user wrote: 'This is sportsmanship. Thank you for applauding them. They need it, even though they didn't won, they still made it to Olympics.'

Hannah has since spoken to Newsweek about the heartwarming act, which has left people in awe.

She said: 'My sister and I saw how sad the ones who hadn't been clapped for looked, so after the first four games, we started cheering especially loud.

'We stood up when they walked by, and even got my brothers, husband, and brother-in-law to join in.'

The sport fan explained that she wanted to cheer for everyone because the Olympics were about bringing people together.

She added: 'I wanted to make sure these athletes knew how incredible they were for even making it to the Olympics - not many people can say that.

'There is so much sadness, death, discrimination, and anger in the world, and I love that the Olympics has a way of bringing us together and uniting us, even if only for a bit.'

Hannah applauded losing athletes from the countries Australia, Romania, Thailand, Poland, Fiji, Algeria, Senegal, and Ukraine as they exited the arena.

The Olympics has been a lively event that has united many sports enthusiasts - and Team USA has garnered numerous gold medals at the event so far.

Gymnast Simone Biles picked up her sixth gold medal at the All-Around Finals on Thursday.
