Sorority recruitment has started again at the University of Alabama, kicking off a new wave of freshman going viral for their pricey athleisure outfits paired with flashy jewels and snazzy sneakers.

The incoming freshman class already attracted attention when they showed off their expensive outfits on TikTok as they attend the Bama Bound orientation program in June.

While some young women are sticking to athleisure from Alo and jewelry from more reasonably priced Southern brands like Kendra Scott and E Newton, others are going all out in Cartier and Dior.

In past years, teens have gone viral and become influencers after sharing their outfits of the day, gaining thousands of followers and becoming collegiate celebrities overnight.

Now, FEMAIL is rounding up some of the most lavish recruitment outfits and accessories so far, from custom sneakers to thousand dollar designer watches.

Bentley Laurel showed off Gucci leather espadrilles available on resale sites from $500 to $1,000

Content creator Bentley Laurel and her friend Frankie shared a video where they showed off high and low fashion for sorority recruitment

Plenty of girls going through recruitment are opting for a mix of designers and fast fashion.

For example, content creator Bentley Laurel posted a video where she proudly displayed an outfit of the day that consisted of pieces from fast fashion website Shein and Temu, along with Gucci leather espadrilles available on resale sites from $500 to $1,000, and David Yurman jewelry.

Bentley's friend Frankie wore Goodwill shorts because it was philanthropy day, which is when the sorority houses impart information about the charitable organizations they work with.

Frankie also displayed a Tag Heuer watch, which can range from $1,400 to $138,000 for women's options, and Italian Golden Goose sneakers, which cost from $500 to $3,000 and are incredibly popular with sorority girls at southern universities.

Destinee Wilson at the University of Texas has a TikTok account devoted to breaking down the exact prices of clothing influencers wear and jokingly calls herself your 'official Bama rush price breakdown price correspondent.'

Destinee shared a video from an incoming freshman named Parker who has since gone private, where she showed off a $13,000 outfit.

Parker wore a $45 Lululemon shirt, a $49 Gold Hinge skirt, custom University of Alabama $725 Golden Goose sneakers, a $176 stack of E. Newton bracelets, a Cartier Love Bracelet for $7,350, a Van Cleef vintage Alhambra bracelet for $4,600, a David Yurman Classic cable knit bracelet $450, and a $700 Hermes Clic H bracelet.

But not all of her jewelry was designer - Parker was also wearing $15 Amazon earrings and a $58 Bauble Bar necklace.

While some commenters were shocked by the hefty price tag, with one writing, 'That would pay my rent for the entirety of my lease,' another explained that the majority of the jewelry was on loan from her mother's closet, which is the norm for many of the young women in Tuscaloosa.

'Butttt her next video was her returning some of the bracelets to her mom which was so cute and real,' one of the comments pointed out.

According to Destinee, another potential sorority girl is mixing high/low courtesy of a Zara silver skirt, Claire's pearl earrings, and Dior jewelry, leaving some commenters to wonder if certain young women are procuring dupes.

Destinee posted another price breakdown, where Bre Morris, who's already a recruitment star on social media, wore a Lululemon set that's currently on sale.

Bre paired her neon athleisure with $400 Jimmy Choo sneakers, a $580 Dior necklace, a $395 Louis Vuitton bracelet, as well as accessories from E. Newton, Tory Burch, and David Yurman bracelets, coming to $2,332.

Bre shared the video and was praised by her followers, who called her one of the standout characters of Bama rush.

'Okay this might be my favorite outfit so far,' one commenter raved about the brightly colored ensemble.

However, some people were still surprised by the high Bama rush prices for casual clothing, with one exclaiming, 'These outfits cost more than my monthly mortgage payment.'

As Bama rush has only just kicked off, it's certain to be one of the most expensive recruitment seasons yet.
