Aussie foodies are raving about this insane $14 secret pie that's so exclusive, the bakery doesn't have a shopfront: Here's how to get one

A hidden storefront in Sydney is quietly churning out pies that some have dubbed 'the best in Australia'.

Blood's Bakery is a cult pie shop in Ultimo that is dishing up 'insane' savoury pastries and desserts - but only to those in the know.

Started in 2021 by chef Alex Lynn of Mr Wong and Ms G fame - the under the radar baker only sells pies to people who slip into his direct messages.

The menu is released every Tuesday and you need to order directly from Blood's Bakery's Instagram account to secure pies that have people saying, 'the hype is real'.

The 'secret' bakery currently has only six Google reviews - but, thanks to a dedicated fan following, still manages to sell out its menu every single week.

Antonio Khant, the man behind TikTok account thepieboi, shared a 'mouth watering' video of his first bite into a coveted Blood's Bakery pie.

'I just got my hands on one of the most exclusive pies in Sydney, maybe even Australia,' Antonio said.

'Straight off the bat, this smells so buttery, I've never smelled anything like this.'

Showing off the Insta-famous Chasu Pork Belly and Ramen Egg Pie, $14 for one or $23 for a 'bake at home' box of two, the Sydney foodie called the pastry 'crazy'.

Antonio bit into the thick treat, dipped it into a side of chilli oil and squeezed the gooey ramen egg yolk over the top: 'So good, it tastes like something you would get in a restaurant.'

According to the foodie, it's the layers of flaked butter-soaked pastry folded over an umami-rich filling of chasu, pork belly and mushroom that makes this pie the perfect fusion between Asian and French and flavours.

Chef Lynn cooks the pork belly slowly in a mixture of ginger, sake and soy and then adds it to a ramen-like broth, finishing it off with sesame, seaweed and shallot.

'This pie is awesome, one of the best pies I've had in Sydney,' Mr Khant added.

Tormented fans were salivating over the video, with one woman agreeing that Chef Alex makes the 'the meanest' pies in Sydney.

'Looks incredible,' another woman agreed.

One Kiwi joked that Antonio's Australian nationality made him unfit to judge the pastry.

'I can only trust a New Zealander for pie recommendations in Australia,' she said.

With interest in the Chasu pie now exploding, the bakery is accepting pre-orders for the 23rd and 24th of August.

Other Blood's Bakery menu gems include the 'cornflake tart' with strawberry and rhubarb and milk custard, and a ramen-style sausage roll.

Those too tech-shy to order off Instagram can also find Blood's Bakery pies at Solstice cafe in the Inner-West suburb of Summer Hill every Saturday.

'Obsessed. I rush to Solstice Cafe to buy your products. They are the perfect weekend treat and the flavour combinations are so unique and perfectly done,' one fan said.

'Amazing Pies! Must try. A real hidden secret,' another man added.

Maybe not for long.
