Bec Judd rails against crime in Melbourne as teenager charged over fatal crash that killed a young doctor VANISHES while on bail

Rebecca Judd has once again taken aim at the Victorian authorities after a teenager charged over a fatal car crash skipped bail.

Police have launched a manhunt for the 17-year-old, who they allege was behind the wheel of a stolen Jeep Cherokee that collided with a Toyota Corolla, killing trainee doctor William Taylor, 28, as he travelled home from football training.

The Jeep hit speeds of 100km/h as it hurtled through the inner-Melbourne suburb of Burwood on July 2 moments before the crash, police said.

On her Instagram account, Judd - the wife of retired AFL champion Chris Judd, made a succinct comment on the screenshot of a news report that the teen had breached his bail conditions and was on the run.

'This is outrageous,' she posted.

The glamorous WAG has repeatedly criticised the Victorian government's handling of crime.

In April, she responded to multiple reports of youth running amok in Melbourne by posting: 'And so it goes on... and on...'.

She also responded to the news of a violent home invasion that left a homeowner in hospital from the upmarket suburb of Beaumaris, a stone's throw from Judd's $7.3million Brighton mansion.

'And another... So sorry for the victim. I know it's typical to say this but the system is well and truly obliterated,' Judd wrote.

Judd first posted her concerns about feeling safe in Brighton in 2022 and has since leapt on chances to remind people about Victoria's decade-high surge in youth-related crime.

'Pretty sure someone warned the government about this in 2022 and was rubbished,' she said after March stats showed a spike in Victorian burglaries.

'They didn't care then and they don't care now. This is a Vic wide issue and not just Bayside.'

Jacinta Allan's Labor government has recently toughened bail laws, which critics claimed were previously geared towards releasing alleged young offenders.

Acting Premier Ben Carroll was forced to deny last week the courts were going 'too soft' on young alleged offenders.

However, in mixed messaging, Victoria's Police Minister Anthony Carbines laid some of the blame on the courts for granting bail to repeat offenders.

'It is incumbent on the courts to make sure that repeat serious offenders who are on bail have that bail revoked,' Mr Carbines said.

'That is the expectation of the government, the parliament and the people of Victoria.'

In granting bail to the teenager now on the run, the judge said he had stable accommodation with his mother, was attending a Melbourne private school and was not on bail at the time of the alleged offending.

The judge found any risk the boy posed could be reduced through conditions, including a curfew.

Victoria Police confirmed they were searching for the teen.

'The teenager has failed to comply with his bail conditions and his whereabouts are unknown,' a statement read.

Police close to the investigation were furious to learn that the alleged driver had skipped bail.

They added that the teen won't be punished for breaching bail once they're tracked down.

'It's an absolute joke,'  the source told the Herald Sun.

'It's an insult to the officers who work so hard to apprehend offenders. What motivation do they have to chase these people when it's an endless cycle in and out of courts?'

Two 15-year-old girls were also charged with car theft and three other males remain wanted over the fatal collision.
