'Great job, Joe!' Trump leads the online roasting of Biden on social media after president makes monumental gaffes at NATO summit

Donald Trump has mocked Joe Biden after two major gaffes at a NATO press conference, where President Zelensky was introduced as 'Putin'.

The US President delivered one of his most important speeches in months at NATO's Washington Summit on Thursday.

But it was overshadowed by two monumental slip-ups in which he got the names of the Ukrainian and Russian presidents mixed up and called Kamala Harris 'Vice President Trump'.

Biden, who is facing growing pressure to drop out of the presidential race, was mercilessly ridiculed for his blunders online with former President Trump leading the taunts.

Writing on TruthSocial, he said: 'Crooked Joe begins his "Big Boy" Press Conference with, "I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president, though I think she was not qualified to be president." Great job, Joe!'

However, Biden has since fired back at his rival, writing on X: 'By the way: Yes, I know the difference.

'One's a prosecutor, and the other's a felon.'

Biden, who overcame a childhood stutter, has been trying to move past concerns that he is too old for re-election.

The 81-year-old has been under intense scrutiny since the fallout from his dismal debate against Trump, the Republican candidate, last month.

There were noticeable gasps from the NATO audience when Biden mixed up Zelensky with Russian tyrant Putin.

While introducing the Ukrainian president last night, Biden said: 'Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin.'

A clearly panicked Biden corrected himself and added: 'No, we're going to beat Putin.'

He then blamed the blunder on being 'so focused' on defeating the Russian leader who invaded Ukraine two-and-a-half years ago.

Mr Zelensky cancelled a planned press conference afterwards.

It got worse for Biden later when a reporter asked whether Kamala Harris could beat Donald Trump.

Muddling up names again he said: 'Look, I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president if I didn't think she was not qualified to be vice president'.

Within minutes of his departure from the stage, two more Democratic representatives joined the growing number of party members calling for him to stand down.

Democrat representative Jim Himes from Connecticut and the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee said: 'The 2024 election will define the future of American democracy, and we must put forth the strongest candidate possible to confront the threat posed by Trump's promised MAGA authoritarianism.

'I no longer believe that is Joe Biden.'

Representative Scott Peters of California said: 'The stakes are high, and we are on a losing course.'

Then Representative Eric Sorensen of Illinois joined in and became the 18th Democratic member of either the House or the Senate to call from Biden to step aside.

CNN has claimed that Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi have talked about getting Biden to step aside ahead of the November election.

However, behind the scenes at NATO summit, world leaders have been concerned about Biden's cognitive decline.

One senior diplomat reportedly said that politicians from around the globe fear he could fall and are 'worried if he knows which direction he is going'.

House Speaker Mike Johnson also said that NATO leaders have privately told him they are 'deeply concerned' about the president's physical and mental health.
