Outraged Gold Coast surfer Cary Gilbert calls out boardrider who landed on his wife Bebe's head and caused a horrific cut

An angry surfer has demanded the man who caused horrific injuries to his wife while she was out surfing come forward.

Cary Gilbert said the shocking incident happened on Thursday around 8.15am at popular surf break Currumbin Alley on Queensland's Gold Coast, which is infamous for surf rage and collisions.

Mr Gilbert said his wife, Bebe, has more than than 25 years' surfing experience and is keen and competent.

He shared graphic images of a deep laceration to his wife's head to a southern Gold Coast community Facebook group.

'I am looking for the surfer (male) who landed on my wife's head and didn't even get out of the water to help her through a pretty significant trauma to the head,' he wrote.

'My wife clearly stated verbally to him that she was not f***ing OK and had to go in.'

Mr Gilbert added, 'Looks like he simply paddled back out for some more fun and (has) probably been getting some sick waves while she recovers at home with nine staples on her head and misses out on the action.'

He urged the perpetrator or someone who knows him to come forward.

'If this is you or your mate please get in touch!' he wrote.

He wrote it's never too late to check in on the person you landed on and apologise for not realising.

'We don't need compensation, my wife is doing well, no fracture, no concussion, no headache and somehow very minimal pain, taking the week off work to recover.'

He concluded his post,  'An acknowledgment to help her with her emotional process, find some sort of closure and get back out there feeling safe within our surfing community as soon as possible is where she is at.'

Comments to Mr Gilbert's Facebook post shared his anger.

'This is so sickening, appalling behavior leaving her out in the water like that, did anyone help her? I hope he turns up,' wrote one Facebook user.

'That's appalling behaviour. Really sorry for your wife and hope she heals well,' wrote another.

'God mate. We wish her a speedy recovery. That looks nasty, some people just don't care.'
