Mount Jagged: Multiple injured, one critical in horror crash south of Adelaide

Seven people, including three young boys have been rushed to hospital after a horror two-vehicle pile-up near a busy intersection south of Adelaide.

Emergency services were called to Victor Harbor Rd, near the intersection of Mosquito Hill Rd in Mount Jagged at about 2.45pm on Thursday following reports of collission between a car and ute.

The female Suburu driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital, where she's now fighting for life.

Her two passengers- a woman, 26, and a boy, 7 sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

A family of four in the Mitsubishi ute were also injured.

They included a man, 46, a woman, 43, and two boys aged 12 and 10.

The patients' extent of injuries has not yet been confirmed.

Emergency responders remained at the scene as major crash investigators made  their way to the site 65km south of Adelaide.

Photos show the both ute and Suburu sedan badly damaged and crash debris scattered across the road.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area with Victor Harbor Rd closed in both directions between Goolwa Rd and Hindmarsh Tiers Rd.

The crash unfolded hours after woman and child suffered life-threatening injuries in a head-on crash near the state's border.

Police also attended the scene of a serious crash at Strathalbyn after a car had collided with a parked truck.

The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
