Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock issues fresh appeal for help after her niece Faith, 13, vanished without a phone yesterday - as she urges people to 'please call the police if you've spotted her'

Former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock has issued a fresh appeal for help after her niece Faith vanished without a phone yesterday.

The singer said she was 'extremely worried' and launched a plea on social media after 13-year-old Faith went missing in High Wycombe on Monday.

In a story published on Instagram the 32-year-old said Faith had been carrying a Jordan backpack and had no phone or money on her at the time of her disappearance.

The post also contained two photos of her niece, one showing her wearing glasses with a white top, with a red streak in her black hair.

The other showed the child walking down a pavement while wearing a black top, black leggings and holding a black rucksack.

Less than 24 hours later, the pop star sent out another story in which she shared another appeal to find the teenager, which had originally been posted by the Black Project, an arts and culture group that has previously partnered with Ms Pinnock's charity The Black Fund.

In this post, Ms Pinnock urged people to 'please call the police if you've spotted her'.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: 'Faith was reported missing to Thames Valley Police yesterday [Monday] evening.

'Officers are working to locate her. If anyone has any information on where she might be, please call 101 quoting 2053 of yesterday's date [22/7].'

In Monday's post, Ms Pinnock wrote: 'Please share. My niece Faith is missing. She was last seen wearing a black crop top, black leggings with a Jordan backpack in High Wycombe town centre.

'Please share, we are extremely worried, she has no phone or money. Police have been informed but are yet to find her.'

The BLACK Project, which has worked with Ms Pinnock and her sisters in the past, also shared the appeal.

They wrote: 'Faith, age 13, has not been seen or heard from for several hours now, having last been seen in the town centre of High Wycombe earlier today.

'She has no phone with her, and no money either, so it's not clear if or how she'd have left the High Wycombe area, but with no way of contacting her, her family are incredibly worried. Police have been informed but as yet haven't found her.'

They added that people in the Buckinghamshire, London and Bedfordshire areas should get in touch if they have any information.

Ms Pinnock shares a close bond with her niece and took to social media in 2018 to support her as she struggled with her hair at school.

She wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: 'My niece of 7 years once said she didn't like her Afro & wanted to look like the other girls in her class, it broke my heart that she didn't consider what she had as beautiful... Love your curls, love your Afro... we need to teach young black girls that it IS just as beautiful.'

Ms Pinnock grew up in High Wycombe with her parents and two older sisters before going on to join Little Mix when it was formed during The X Factor in 2011.

The female quartet would win the series, before going on to release six studio albums with her band mates Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson.

Since the band broke up she has released a solo EP and been an advocate on issues such as feminism, racism and inequality.

She is married to footballer Andre Grey and the couple have a set of twin girls together who were born in August 2021.
