A young mom has left diners divided after questioning if she gave a proper tip to a Chuck E. Cheese waitress after a birthday party.

Tiffany Rab explained in a TikTok video that she tipped a Chuck E. Cheese server $30 when she got the bill for the $325 party.

Rab said her restaurant bill was missing a line reserved for customers to add a tip, noting that the chain is 'kinda self-serve.'

'You get up and get your own drinks, you get your own salads, and your kids are running around half the time,' Rab said.

'It's not like they're waiting and refilling drinks and that kind of thing. They're not chained to the table like you are as an actual waitress.'

Rab, who noted that she and her husband work as servers, explained that the Chuck E. Cheese waitress asked to be tipped in cash or via the payment platform Cash App.

'I was asking everybody what they thought, and they said between $20 and $30 probably,' Rab continued in the clip, which had garnered more than 700 comments a day after it was posted.

'I will 100 percent call this girl's store in the morning if I tipped her bad, and I'll find her Cash App and send her more money.'

Birthday parties are common at Chuck E. Cheese locations, and the restaurant chain has hosted them for over 45 years.

The restaurant offers various party packages, and prices vary depending on the venue.

Rab did not clarify what option she purchased, but said in the comments that she spent $210 on games.

Despite the receipt, Chuck E. Cheese customers have opted to tip their servers.

Several former and current employees of the chain who left positive reviews about their experiences claimed they made great tips.

'Hosts can make tips, which is pretty sweet! It isn't common at all, but you can get upwards of $100,' a self-described Chuck E. Cheese party host wrote last year on Indeed.

Other Indeed users claimed they hardly made any tips when they worked at the restaurant.

More than one TikTok user who commented on Rab's post claimed to be a current or former Chuck E. Cheese employee who approved of her tip.

'As a past Chuck E. Cheese party host I would've been happy with a $30 tip most of time people didn't even tip because they didn't give a tip line on the receipt!' wrote one commenter.

Another said: '[T]ypically, I would receive between $50-$100, but for someone not refilling your drinks, $30 is fine.'

One commenter who claimed to be a past Chuck E. Cheese employee did not approve of Rab's tip, saying the least she she was tipped for working a party was $50 - and the most was $300.

'If gratuity isn't included, and she was a good server I think it would have been nice to tip her 18-20%,' added another commenter.
