The newly appointed boss of Seven has issued a grovelling apology to staff and vowed to do better ahead a bombshell investigation into the network's workplace culture.

Seven West Media chief executive and managing director Jeff Howard addressed all employees in a recent email where he assured that  management team were reviewing its policies, procedures and culture.

The email comes ahead of a damning investigation into a probe into workplace practices at the embattled network by ABC's Four Corners whish is expected to air this Monday night.

More than 200 staff were interviewed as part of the episode titled 'Don't Speak' helmed by Four Corners reporter Louise Milligan.

Ahead of the program Mr Howard told staff that some of the issues that will be raised on the episode were 'historical ones' that have already been addressed, the Daily Telegraph reported.

'We know they have been working on a story about Seven West Media for a while now,' the email stated.

'Some of you may have even been approached to participate; unfortunately it looks like a few may have taken up the offer.'

Mr Howard added that he was committed towards building a 'better media company' and that he was sorry if some previous matters weren't dealt with properly.

'If any of the issues they call out weren't appropriately addressed, that disappoints me; we should have done better, and for that I'm sorry to those affected.' Mr Howard wrote.

A synopsis, which was included alongside a promo clip released by Four Corners last week, claimed allegations of sexism and bullying are 'rife' at the network.

'Channel Seven bills itself as a family network, but a Four Corners investigation finds it to be a 'second chance club' for senior men, described as a 'degrading, soul-crushing' workplace,' the synopsis states.

Many staff have made legal claims against the network and many past staff have been gagged with non-disclosure agreements'.

Mr Howard said management at the network are reviewing workplace policies and culture about some of the issues raised at the company.

'A number of people who have displayed behaviour not reflective of SWM's values have already been removed from the organisation,' he wrote.

'I want to be really clear that the actions of some individuals do not reflect the values, behaviour and attitude of the business as a whole, which is home to some of the best, hardest working and most passionate media professionals in Australia.'

Ms Milligan took to X last week to reveal the national broadcaster was inundated with several complaints from former Channel 7 staff.

'Promo only up a few hours and lots of Channel Seven complainants already getting in touch. Thank you and bear with us while we get back to you all,' she wrote.

'To be crystal clear, these are complainants against Channel Seven. As in, former Seven employees. Or complainants against current Seven employees. Seven is not complaining'.

Mr Howard said additional context will be provided about the issues raised in the episode once the program airs on Monday night.
