Police say 32-year-old Lacy Gentry slammed his 2015 Volkswagen Passat into the Walmart causing substantial damage

A fired Walmart employee crashed his car through the front entrance of the store and caused 'considerable damage' after he continued to drive around inside.   

Lacy Gentry allegedly slammed his 2015 Volkswagen Passat into the Walmart in Concord, North Carolina, last Friday at 6am, Concord Police said.  

Police say when they arrived at the scene they were eventually able to get Gentry to stop the vehicle and placed him in custody. 

Authorities say while they determined Gentry is a former employee of the store, they have not discovered further motive for the incident. 

According to police, no one inside the store or any officers were injured during the incident but that the store itself and merchandise had 'considerable damage'.

Gentry was arrested at the scene and charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, felony breaking and entering, two misdemeanor counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and other charges relating to property damage. 

He is currently in the Cabarrus County Jail under $100,000 bond.
