'Sadly I've never heard that kind of sound in my life!': Ally McCoist is left in stitches as he discusses 'genius' prank that saw porn sounds effects played over Gary Lineker's live BBC FA Cup coverage

Ally McCoist was left in stiches as he discussed the porn noises that interrupted the BBC's coverage of Liverpool's 1-0 win over Wolves on Tuesday.

Shortly after the Match of the Day's coverage for Liverpool's replay at Wolves began on BBC1, the embarrassing moaning noises began, leaving the pundits visibly confused and viewers incredulous, especially those watching with children.

Lineker and Alan Shearer appeared to be tickled by the chorus of sex sounds, with Shearer joking that it was all Danny Murphy's fault. The BBC quickly cut away for a pre-match interview with Jurgen Klopp, but after returning to the studio the noises continued to disrupt the show for around 10 minutes.

McCoist, speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast on Wednesday, could not help but to laugh as he revealed he 'wasn't too happy because he's 'never heard that kind of sounds in my life!' 

The former Rangers star had himself and listeners into stitches, even urging them to phone up to ask: 'How do you get that noise in real life?!'

Former Liverpool midfielder Murphy was also in the studio alongside Lineker, but was out of shot when the prank began. McCoist - who works for ITV on commentary - had a hilarious theory as to what Murphy was up to. 

'Danny's having the time of his life! ITV, you get a cup of tea and maybe a sandwich, and they're getting added perks like that,' he said. 

Asked by host Laura Woods to describe to listeners what had happened, McCoist quipped 'Sadly, I've never heard that. I've never heard that kind of sounds in my life,' he said while in hysterics. 'Only time I've heard it's on the phone!' 

Woods then asked if she should describe it herself. McCoist cheekily replied: 'Go on, I'd love you to do it, in fact. 

'Give us a When Harry Met Sally, give us your best Meg Ryan,' referencing the famous scene from the 1989 film in which the actress faked an orgasm in a public diner.

Woods could not help but laugh throughout the three-minute discussion about the porn prank

'Brilliant, genius,' McCoist said of the pranksters taping a phone to the back of a studio chair before calling it to set off the verbal expressions of euphoria.

McCoist wasn't quite done in an almost three-minute discussion about the viral moment. 'I know this probably isn't the show for it, but what brings that on? Is there a move? 

'Can pitch this to the listeners, we want to know! How do you get that noise...in real life?'

Youtuber Daniel Jarvis, also known as 'Jarvo69' and 'BMWJarvo' claimed responsibility for the porn noises, setting the erotic noises as a ringtone before calling the mobile on a live stream as the coverage began. It continued throughout the coverage as Lineker, Murphy and Paul Ince talked over the interruption. 

He has previously been known for pitch invasions, including when where he bumped England batsman Jonny Bairstow and was convicted of aggravated trespass.

It is not yet known how he managed to get into the studio at the Molineux and resultantly tape the mobile to the set. The BBC is investigating that major security breach.

The broadcast team decided to make light of the situation, with Lineker saying to Murphy; 'Would you stop making those noises, Danny?' 

At half-time the host continued to poke fun at the gaffe when referring to Harvey Elliott's stellar winning goal. 

'Elliott's goal was a screamer, not the only one we've had tonight,' Lineker said.
