Manchester United have set their valuation of Harry Maguire high, which could deter potential suitors from targeting him this summer.
The 30-year-old was signed by the Red Devils in 2019 for £80million - still the world-record fee for a defender.
However, he started only 16 games last term, half of them in cup ties, as the Man United captain lost his regular place in the side under Erik ten Hag, and Mail Sport revealed last month that he is now one of several players up for sale this summer.
Manchester Evening News report that United have slapped a £50m price tag on Maguire - a figure which is expected to make interested parties baulk.
The England international has two years left on his current contract, but it is thought the club are ready to let him go this summer, after he fell out of favour under ten Hag.

Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw are all preferred by the Dutch manager in his position.
Maguire is preparing to talk to ten Hag about his future within the club, which might either confirm his status as a United player for the coming season or aid his route to a new destination after four years in Manchester.
It is said to be highly unlikely that any potential suitors would be willing to pay £50m for Maguire, especially as he is clearly surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, so there is likely to be some room to negotiate if they are willing to haggle over that valuation.
Earlier this week, Mail Sport reported that Maguire is set to lose the Manchester United armband even if he remains with the club next season.
Portuguese playmaker Bruno Fernandes is the most likely candidate to take over the captain's duties permanently, having stepped in for Maguire in the games when the defender was out of the line-up.

Maguire remains an England player, and his international role will make him attractive to other clubs, but the player will be keen for game time ahead of Euro 2024.
England manager Gareth Southgate warned that Maguire's place in the national team set-up was in jeopardy if he was not regularly featuring for his club.
But he is keen to fight for his place at Man United, with Maguire taking part in three training sessions a day during an intense training camp in Portugal, where he is working with legendary former Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho.
