Erling Haaland may be the best player in the world in many people's eyes but he's not even the best player from Norway, according to Eden Hazard.

The former Chelsea star was asked by talkSPORT to name the top from a number of different countries at this moment.

And while many of his answers were predictable, one will have left some eyebrows raise.

When he was asked to name Norway's Norway's current No 1, Hazard replied: 'Odegaard. I know you want me to say Haaland, but I say Odegaard because I play with him.'

Odegaard and Hazard were at Real Madrid at the same time but neither managed to make much of an impact at the club.

Neither Odegaard or Haaland will be featuring at Euro 2024 after Norway failed to qualify for the tournament.

Hazard was also asked to name England's best player, responding 'Phil Foden' with little hesitation.

Jamal Musiala was his choice for Germany while Kylian Mbappe was unsurprisingly  the answer for France.

Not allowed to choose himself, Kevin De Bruyne was his selection for his native Belgium.

For Italy it was Marco Verratti while Virgil van Dijk got the nod for Holland.

Cristiano Ronaldo was chosen for Portugal despite being just a year shy of 40 while it was ex-Chelsea teammate Cesar Azpilicueta for Spain after much deliberation.
