LISTEN to It's All Kicking Off! Why it's criminal to leave Trent Alexander-Arnold out of the England team

England must make use of Trent Alexander-Arnold's extravagant talent at Euro 2024 despite his inclusion in central midifeld being a risk, according to Mail Sport's Chief Sports Writer Oliver Holt.

Alexander-Arnold is expected to start for the Three Lions alongside Declan Rice in the centre of midfield in their opening game against Serbia on Sunday night.

Mail Sport's Sami Mokbel, speaking on the latest episode of It's All Kicking Off!, believes the clash will be the acid test to see how Alexander-Arnold performs in the role in a competitive match for England.

While Alexander-Arnold is typically used as a right back at Liverpool, Mokbel explained that England boss Gareth Southgate wants a passer in midfield like Andrea Pirlo and views the 25-year-old as the best option.

Holt agreed with It's All Kicking Off host Ian Ladyman's view that Alexander-Arnold's inclusion represents a 'risk', but one worth taking if England want to win Euro 2024.

He believes it would be a 'crime' for England not to make use of Alexander-Arnold's talent, suggesting the Three Lions having a better chance of winning the tournament with the Liverpool star playing alongside Rice.
