Romelu Lukaku's endured a torrid first-half of Belgium's opening Euro 2024 match against Slovakia after wasting three huge chances in front of goal.

Belgium found themselves 1-0 down at the interval after Jeremy Doku's mistake gifted the opposition an easy opening goal in the 7th minute, but Lukaku had opportunities to get his side back on level terms.

The 31-year-old is a typically reliable goalscorer for Belgium when competing in major competitions, but was criticised for his wastefulness on three separate occasions in the first 45 minutes.

Lukaku's first golden chance saw him spurn a chance from six-yards just two minutes into the encounter when the ball rolled to him in the box.

His next shooting opportunity came just moments later when one-on-one with an oncoming goalkeeper but was unable to make the most of it.
