West Ham add Kieran Trippier to their shortlist of right-back options - as the Irons remain in talks with Man United over a deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka

  • West Ham could make a move for right back Kieran Trippier this summer
  • The Irons have added the Newcastle defender to their shortlist of targets
  • Julen Lopetegui's side are also in talks with Man United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka

West Ham have added Newcastle's Kieran Trippier to their list of right-back options as they maintain talks with Manchester United for Aaron Wan Bissaka.

The 33-year-old arrived at Newcastle back in 2022 and his contract with the Magpies is set to expire next year.

Trippier endured a difficult season as the former Tottenham and Burnley defender struggled for form during the 2023-24 campaign.

The England international, who featured for the Three Lions at Euro 2024, went on to make 39 appearances for Newcastle last season, sustaining a calf injury that left him out of the side during the latter part of the campaign.

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui appears to be keen on acquiring a new full-back, with the London club having stepped up their attempts to sign Wan-Bissaka.

The Man United defender is also in the last year of his contract at Old Trafford and has been linked with several clubs, including West Ham.

The Red Devils want around £18million for the right back and if Wan-Bissaka leaves the club, United were set to hold further negotiations with Noussair Mazraoui.

United had a bid for Mazraoui and teammate Matthijs de Ligt rejected last week.

The club also remain keen on PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte, but it's thought they will need to sell to raise funds to sign the Uruguayan.

West Ham have already signed Germany international Niclas Fullkrug for £23m and Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville for around £25m, while Argentina's Guido Rodriguez has joined on a free transfer.
