West Ham have enquired about a move for Spain and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler.

The Hammers have been one of the surprise big spenders with Aaron Wan-Bissaka's arrival on Wednesday the eighth signing made by new boss Julen Lopetegui so far this summer.

While they have recruited heavily in defence - with Wan-Bissaka joined by Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo - West Ham appear to have set their sights on reinforcements in the middle of the park.

With James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez, Tomas Soucek and Guido Rodriguez in the centre, they are fairly well stocked for midfielders, yet the club have now approached PSG over Soler's availability.

Primarily a central midfielder, Soler came through the ranks at Valencia before departing for the French capital in the summer window before the 2022-23 campaign.

Since his arrival in Paris, the Spain international has scored eight and assisted eight in 63 games, though he has got his hands on plenty of silverware in that time already.

With PSG, Soler has won two Ligue 1 titles, a French Cup and a French Super Cup award to add to his Copa Del Rey title with Valencia.

As well as his 14 appearances and four goals earned with La Roja, Soler was also part of the Spanish Under-21 side that won the European Championship in 2019.
