Blonde woman at the centre of Latrell Mitchell's white powder photo posts an APPALLING threat to the person who 'leaked her photo'

  • Souths star is being investigated by the NRL
  • Club alerted league to existence of the image
  • Woman with Mitchell in photo has spoken out

The woman who outed herself as the mystery blonde in a photo appearing to show Latrell Mitchell bending over an unidentified white powder has posted a shocking threat online after being blamed for leaking the image.

Amy Brown outed herself on Facebook as the woman in the picture which appears to show South Sydney star Mitchell bending over white powder on a table and holding his left hand up to his face.

Souths reported the image to the NRL Integrity Unit and confirmed it came from Mitchell's trip to the country NSW town of Dubbo last weekend, where he undertook community work and appeared at a coaching clinic.

Daily Mail Australia does not suggest the white substance is an illicit drug.

The NRL quizzed Mitchell about the image on Tuesday as he remains sidelined with a foot injury that could see him miss the rest of the season.

Brown - who lives and works in the NSW town of Lightning Ridge around 350km north of Dubbo, according to her Facebook profile - has been engaged in a war of words with Dubbo locals who accused her of leaking the photo to the media.

She has strongly denied the allegations.

Brown made a threat in a Facebook exchange with a woman on Wednesday as she defended herself from accusations that she leaked the image using Apple's AirDrop function, which allows users to send items to other devices made by the company.

The woman on the receiving end of the threat has also been accused of distributing the image.

'I'm not gonna sit back and lie about anything,' Brown wrote.

'I was shown [the photo] at the football on Sunday. Didn't even know that picture existed until then. I wouldn't even know how to air drop.

'But i do know one thing i'll f**king drop you next time I see you.'

Mitchell has kept a low profile since the photo circulated online, but his advisor Matt Rose revealed the footy star's mental state.

'Latrell is doing OK,' he said on Tuesday.

'Yeah, I mean, at this stage under NRL rules he can't make any comment.

'Has he had a chance to actually speak to the integrity unit yet to explain himself? That's all happening at the moment.

Brown insisted she had no idea the photograph had even been taken until it was shown to her at a footy match last Sunday

'Once that's finished he'll be able to speak to you then.'

Mitchell's NSW Blues teammate Jarome Luai discussed the subject after training on Tuesday.

'I think it's a pretty touchy subject when you start talking about that stuff,' Luai said.

'I think reflecting on it I just wanna make sure personally that I'm doing the right thing and I have a positive message for my audience.

'All the best to him. I'm sure he's feeling really remorseful on what's happened.'

Earlier this week top Sydney-based lawyer Paul McGirr explained why he believes the Bunnies fullback won't be fined or suspended over the image.

'Unless either Latrell Mitchell, or whoever was allegedly in that room, attest to what Latrell is actually doing, and when, then I would submit on face value, legally, that the case would more than likely collapse,' McGirr told News Corp.

'It's mere speculation on a person who is seen bending down over a table. The NRL only has to prove matters on the balance of probabilities but without any admissions, the case would struggle.'
