An Australian music producer who moonlights as a Kim Jong-un lookalike has gatecrashed the Olympic Games in Paris.

The lookalike, who goes by the name of Howard X on social media, showed up in full costume as the North Korean leader to cheer on the nation's female boxer Pang Chol Mi in her quarter final defeat by China's Chang Yuan.

He also held a Winnie the Pooh teddy bear in a not-so-subtle dig at China's censorship of the Western cartoon due to the character's likeness to its leader Xi Jinping

Howard positioned himself by the North Korean delegate during the fight, which Mi lost via split decision, before sharing a video of himself inside the arena to his followers on Twitter and Instagram.

'Hello, this is the Supreme Leader speaking from the Olympic stadium, where North Korea is playing China,' he said.

'I'm right in front of the North Korean delegates supporting their team. You don't get any better than having the Supreme Leader come in person and supporting the team. Let North Korea beat China, and let's make it a knockout!'

There have been various sightings of Howard in Paris during the Olympic Games. He showed up at the table tennis for North Korea's match against Japan, and posed for pictures alongside a Vladimir Putin lookalike in front of the Notre-Dame cathedral.

He also 'crashed' a party alongside a Donald Trump lookalike at South Korea's Olympic House.

'Everyone loved us — until management decided our faces were a 'problem,' ' he wrote on Twitter. 'Yes, we got booted out for our looks … The best part? The security guards couldn't stop laughing and asked for selfies on our way out.'

Howard has been dressing up as Kim Jong-un for over a decade, and made headlines internationally in 2018 when he rocked up to the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea,

Spectators were watching the unified Korean ice hockey team take on Japan in South Korea's Gangneung arena this morning when the lookalike appeared in the stands.

Pictures show him waving a flag in front of a team of cheerleaders before a group of men arrived to push him away.

He later denied that he was making a political statement and told officials: 'I just showed up with my flag and my face... If you don't like my face there's nothing you can do about it, I was born this way.'

Eventually, footage emerged showing him smiling and posing for photos after apparently being released.

In 2016, he was also seen waving the North Korean flag and appearing in the stands at the Rio Olympic Games.

In an interview, he said he had been professionally impersonating the head of one of the world’s most secretive regimes since April 2013.

Howard said he chose to take up the act in protest against the 'completely disgusting' North Korean regime.

He added: 'I have never got in any sort of legal trouble or got arrested, after all, I am not in North Korea! I've had plenty of weird reactions - usually, it's that sudden shock that they think they are in the presence of the real guy.'
