Superbike star Jack Kennedy labels Ryanair a 'joke' after airline charge him £75 to take British Supersport trophy to Ireland... but some fans don't agree

  • Jack Kennedy claimed his sixth race win of the season at Thruxton
  • He attempted to carry his trophy on a Ryanair flight but was charged extra
  • The low cost airline made him pay an extra £75 bring it with him

Superbike champion Jack Kennedy was far from impressed after Ryanair made him pay extra to bring his trophy back to Ireland on Tuesday night.

Kennedy claimed his sixth race win of the British Supersport Season with a brilliant last-lap move to claim victory at Thruxton.

The British Supersport Championship is a support series to the Britsh Superbike Championship where the bikes have smaller engine capacities.

Kennedy, a four-time British Supersport champion, was then charged an extra £75 to bring the large silver trophy home with him on the low cost airline.

And he made his feelings known about the decision on the social media platform X.

Nice one @Ryanair charging me £75 to bring my trophy on board that I won in the UK and travelling home to Ireland FR667. What an absolute joke.'

However, the post received a mixed reaction from fans with many questioning why he would deserve special treatment.
