Second-place Heathrow earned a score of seven, with researchers saying it is the best airport for travellers who are wanting to treat themselves.
This is because passengers can splash out on top-notch seafood and champagne at Caviar House & Prunier Seafood Bar, or choose from a menu of high-end classics at Terminal Five's Fortnum & Mason Bar.
Joint third place Liverpool John Lennon Airport ranked highly for cost while London Stansted generally has good online reviews.
Gatwick comes fifth in the table followed by Manchester (sixth), London Luton (seventh), Edinburgh (eighth) and Glasgow (ninth).

Bottom-place Newcastle International only gained a score of 5.3, with the study saying there is limited vegetarian options and poor passenger feedback online.

Andrew Shelton, Netflights' managing director, said: 'The days when airport dining was a grim choice between a speedy sandwich or a greasy fry-up are long gone.

'We expect airports to mirror the high street, with variety, quality, good value and options to suit different dietary needs, and maybe even the odd high-end choice for when we want to treat ourselves.'
'Our rankings show that when an airport invests in meeting those expectations, it can pay off – and will certainly encourage passengers to come back again in the future.
'With over a third of Brits citing the cost of airport food as one of the main annoyances of travelling by air, it's vital for airports to get a good balance between choice and value.'
Meanwhile a spokesperson for Newcastle International Airport said: 'We work closely with all of our food and beverage partners to continually improve service and standards in response to customer demand.
'In July 2018, after listening to feedback from our passengers, local clean eating brand The Naked Deli launched their first UK airport store in our departure lounge - this offers a wide range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
'Further upgrades to the departure lounge are planned for Spring 2019, with more details to be announced in due course.'
