Madonna wants Britney Spears to join her on stage at one of her Celebration Tour stops in Los Angeles next year... amid Spears' divorce drama with Sam Asghari

While Britney Spears is still dealing with her impending divorce from estranged husband Sam Asghari, she may have an intriguing tour offer from Madonna.

The 65-year-old pop music legend is hoping to get the 41-year-old Spears to join her on stage during her upcoming Celebration Tour, according to Page Six.

While Madonna is working to reschedule several dates of the tour - after she was rushed to intensive care earlier this summer - she's eyeing Spears to join her for one of five Los Angeles dates happening in March 2024.

Madonna is said to want to reunite with Spears to celebrate the upcoming 20th anniversary of their collaboration Me Against the Music, released in October 2023.

Both Madonna and Spears have been friends for years, with Madonna and Spears performing a duet of Vogue at her July 2022 wedding to Sam Ashghari.

'Madonna originally wanted Britney to join her on tour this year, Everything was pushed back because of her illness, but she still wants Britney to join her at the Kia Forum,' a source revealed.

The music legends have shared the stage in the past, including an iconic performance almost exactly 20 years earlier at the 2003 Video Music Awards.

Spears and Madonna joined forces with another pop songstress, Christina Aguilera on stage, with the performance ending with Madonna kissing both Spears and Aguilera. 

Spears also joined Madonna on stage during her Sticky & Sweet Tour in November 2008, though Spears has not performed on stage since October 2018.

That could change soon, though, with Spears revealing last week that she's planning a new album, amid her divorce proceedings from Sam Asghari.

'She has an upcoming writers camp and is getting songs from some big artists,' sources close to spears told Page Six.

The singer is still focused on her memoir The Woman In Me, which is slated for release on October 24.

Another source close to the singer added, 'Ideally, she would love to do a record and maybe a song for the book release.'

If Spears does release a new album, it will be her first since 2016's Glory, though Spears herself has yet to confirm a new album.

As for Madonna, the singer is back on the mend and is getting ready to start rehearsals in London.

'Madonna’s entire tour crew are heading to London in the last week of September to start rehearsing in Brixto. They will also be given access to the O2 a day early on Oct. 13 to set up and do a full dress rehearsal,” the source shares.

'Some of the dance routines have been toned down for [Madonna] so that it’s not so strenuous. She’s focusing more on being the frontrunner rather than trying to keep up with the backing dancers. She will still be putting on a great show, but her team’s main concern is ensuring that she’s healthy and can get through the tour from start to finish,' the source continued.
