Robbie Williams' muse (and ex) splits from Rothschild heir husband: Former model and television presenter husband Tania Strecker set for costly divorce with record producer

Tania Strecker made such a big impression on Robbie Williams that he wrote a song about her after they split up, called She’s Madonna.

Now, the former model and television presenter’s husband, Anthony de Rothschild, is the one who’s been left singing the blues.

For I hear that the couple’s marriage has hit the rocks after 18 years.

‘They are done,’ one of their friends claims. ‘It’s very sad. ‘They moved back to London from LA because Tania wasn’t happy, but they have now decided to end the marriage.’

If they were to divorce, it could be costly for the amiable record producer. Harrow-educated Anthony, 46, is the son of banking tycoon Sir Evelyn de Rothschild.

Tania, 50, who had a stint presenting The Big Breakfast with Johnny Vaughan on Channel 4, was previously married to Chelsea pub landlord James Mosbacher, with whom she has daughter. She was a girlfriend of film director Guy Ritchie before he married the queen of pop, Madonna.

It’s not clear how rich Anthony is because, after his father died last November aged 91, it emerged that he left control of a £187million fortune to his widow, Lynn Forester de Rothschild, who was his third wife.

He willed it to a trust fund for her and said she should continue to live rent-free in the family’s historic rural retreat at Ascott in Buckinghamshire.

His will did not set out what financial provision he made for his three adult children from his second marriage, after reported strains in their relationship with their US-born stepmother.

But the £187million - said to account for ‘the gross value of the estate in the UK’ - appeared to fall far short of Sir Evelyn’s reported £600million share of the Rothschild dynasty’s fortune.

His racehorses, racing colours and a 1939 Bentley were left to his sons Anthony, 46, and David, 44. But a later modification to the will - a codicil - revoked the gift of the car and its fate was unclear.

A separate 2014 codicil also gifted his share of a horse racing stud farm, Southcourt Stud, to the unnamed trustees of the Southcourt Trust. This was provisional on none of his children seeking to challenge the will or making any legal claim against his estate.

Any such attempts would mean Sir Evelyn’s share of the stud business would become part of his estate, the will said, meaning it would go to his widow.

Sir Evelyn said his children and their families should not challenge his will on any grounds.

The publication of the will follows claims of a rift between Sir Evelyn’s three children from his second marriage to Victoria Lou Schott - Anthony, David and Jessica - and his widow.

At his funeral at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue in St John’s Wood, north London, Lady de Rothschild reportedly sat behind his coffin with her two sons from a previous marriage, while Sir Evelyn’s children sat at a pew to one side.

All three of Sir Evelyn’s children are listed as directors of various companies linked to the racing stud and the family’s estate. Jessica and Anthony are also trustees at the UK-registered Rothschild family charity Eranda, along with Lady de Rothschild.

De Rothschild declines to comment.
