Indy Clinton sparks pet rehoming debate after adding puppy to household to calm aggressive dog

Australian influencer Indy Clinton has sparked a debate after admitting she planned to rehome her kelpie, Billy, after he nipped one of her children.

In a since expired Instagram Stories post, the 26-year-old asked what her followers would do in the same situation.

'What if you always trusted this dog 110 percent around your kids but one day things changed,' she began.

'Then one night the dog is inside because it's cold, your child pats the dog like any child should be able to pat the family dog, and the dog reacts and nips him,' the TikTok Star continued.

'So in my head hypothetically speaking I would only allow that once, it's once and the dog is gone.

'You can go get rehomed. You can go to another family that doesn't have kids. But when push comes to shove that's quite a hard situation.

'That's quite a hard decision to make, so if anyone being in this situation, what would you do with your dog? Would you never give it another chance? Would you separate it for good, and it has no quality of life? Do you chain it up downstairs?'

Indy later admitted that she had plans to rehome Billy but backed out, and instead decided to get a second dog as a 'friend' for the older animal to calm him down.

Discussing the topic were the hosts of Outspoken the Podcast, who disagreed with how it was handled.

'I think this situation is worse and comes with more judgement because it doesn't sound like any of Billy's aggression has been addressed,' they said.

'And this seems like a Band-Aid situation. She has reiterated that the dog trainer said that there's nothing you can do. She probably shouldn't have shared it online.'

So far, Indy has not had much criticism over the decision, with a handful of fans simply asking how Billy was coping with the new pet.

Indy revealed on Sunday she and husband Ben Azar, who share three children together, are expanding their family.

She posted images to her Instagram Stories showing the couple have just welcomed an adorable golden retriever puppy, named Aloha, into their home.

Captioning the first snap with 'newest addition', the sweet picture saw Ben propping the cute pooch up on his knee.

In the follow up photo, Indy wrote, 'He's coming home!' as her partner wrapped their furry bundle of joy up in his jacket while he carried the pup down the street.

Indy also shared an adorable video of the hound sleeping underneath a bed which appears to be his designated sleeping area.
