Lorraine Kelly treated ITV viewers to an exclusive tour of Buckingham Palace's East Wing on Wednesday's show - and the presenter exposed a 'secret' feature in the historic building.

The host, 64, offered a look at the iconic balcony, staterooms and corridors as well as revealing some of the palace's top secrets and stories.

Unexpectedly though, Lorraine unveiled a hidden passage while giving a tour of the White Drawing Room.

The presenter drew viewers' attention to a large mirror and explained: 'This room also hides a fantastic secret.

'If I walk over here, you can see it looks like a beautiful mirror, it's absolutely gorgeous. But, there's something very special about this huge mirror.'

Pulling on the large cabinet in front of the mirror, she revealed that it opened into a secret passageway, which leads to the Royal Family's private apartments and is used by the King 'to enter or leave the room discreetly whenever he so wishes'.

Lorraine was joined on the show by guests Gyles Brandreth, Tyler West, Ellie Simmonds, Dame Floella Benjamin, Strictly's Anton Du Beke and Royal Photographer Chris Jackson, who each shared their own memories of the palace and the Royal Family from over the years.

Tyler reminisced on how he 'fist-bumped' the King and spoke to him about jerk chicken at Brixton market.

He admitted: 'I just forgot where I was for a second and went to spud him like a fist bump but I was scared he was going to cabbage me so it was a bit of an awkward interaction… and now it's developed to where we are now - we've got like a six piece handshake going on.'

Opening up about her first time visiting Buckingham Palace, Ellie relived the moment she was awarded an MBE at the age of just 14 by the late Queen.

She gushed: 'It was a wonderful experience and to bring my Grandma as well - she loved the Queen… I was quite nervous to meet her - really nervous' before Tyler joked: 'You couldn't have messed it up more than me'.

Speaking fondly about her interactions with the late Queen, Dame Floella said: 'The Queen, what a wonderful woman she was.

'She was like a walking encyclopedia - she knew everything about everything… She had a great sense of humour.

'I think it was a shame that the general public didn't really get to know the real Queen. She was very, very full of life, real life comedy, she loved mimicking other people and she just loved telling stories.

'She shared so many stories with me that I just felt quite honoured to have got to know that side of her.'

Meanwhile, Anton, before sweeping Lorraine off her feet for a dance, revealed that he has always been Queen Camilla's 'favourite professional dancer' and that dancing at Buckingham Palace will always be a real 'life moment' for him.

The TV personality was hosting a health segment about low libido with regular contributor Dr. Amir Khan, who was on hand to discuss the key reasons for a limited sex drive and offer hints to improve it while appearing remotely from his Bradford workplace.

Addressing the presenter, he said: 'When you feel good about yourself, you'll feel more desirable, you'll feel more sexy, and that will help you with that libido and be intimate as well, so get doing this. I always think a bit of intimacy is good for everyone.'

'Thank you for that, especially lubrication. I shall be taking that with me,' she joked. 'You're the only man who can get away with that, and vaginal dryness, at this time in the morning.'
