Abbie Chatfield has stood up for her new man, amid concerns from fans that he's 'using her' for fame.

The former Bachelor star and her Peking Duk musician boyfriend Adam Hyde have been going strong since going public earlier this year.

The 28-year-old tells this week's issue of Stellar Magazine that she's in the best relationship she's ever had - and has no fears that she may be being used.

'It isn't like other people I've had flings with. And this is gonna sound a bit w**ky, but he's had a bigger career than me' she tells this week's issue of Stellar Magazine.

'I don't think he's using me for anything. He's successful in his own right. I think I'm cool for being with him, not the other way around'.

Abbie added that she has known Adam for two years and that they were friends before they started dating, which has added to the trust between them.

'I guess with Adam it's different, because I trust the strength of our relationship. But also, us hanging out isn't a big, new thing. We've been hanging out publicly for years' she said.

'Someone commented saying: "You seem manic. This feels too much too soon." And I made a video saying, "Well, I've known him for two years. We've been dating for six months, getting closer. We were friends for two years before then, so I'm not sure how you think you know it's too soon"' she said.

Abbie previously defended Adam after fans expressed concerns that he's 'love bombing her' for publicity.

She replied to a TikTok follower this week who commented, 'He's love bombing you. look out', after Abbie admitted Adam had paid for her IUD contraceptive device to be inserted.

Love bombing is when a love interest showers you with romantic gestures, artfully painting a picture of the beautiful future they intend to share with you, often when you've only known them weeks or even days.

They make you feel like all your romantic dreams have come true, when the devastating truth is you're being swept off your feet by an arch manipulator.

Abbie insisted this was not happening to her, saying in her reply video: 'I've known him for two years. I've been seeing him on and off throughout those two years.

'I've been friends during those two years and we've been kind of back on for about six months now, officially dating again for like, three months.

'I know this man, and him paying for an IUD is not love bombing. That is a considerate man who knows his role in contraception and is considerate of me.'

Abbie also hit back at a comment which read: 'PR move of the century. This guy knows what he's doing'.

She replied directly, writing: 'I was listening to his music when I was 20 years old lmao'.

It comes after Abbie this week confessed that she has been left 'crying' over her new man.

'I don't think he's using me for anything. He's successful in his own right. I think I'm cool for being with him, not the other way around' she said

The podcaster admitted that his love for her has moved her to tears and she encouraged other women not to accept less than a dedicated partner.

'I'm crying looking at these film photos while Adam is playing a gig so please accept my love letter to Adam as a sign to dump that loser who makes you feel like you aren't easy to love or that can't commit to you' she wrote in her caption.

'Or that doesn't really care to actually know you or won't be romantic or won't communicate or makes you feel like you're too much or doesn't take their part of the mental load or just doesn't make you laugh so hard you can't make sound! Dump them!' she ranted.

Alongside the caption were loved-up images of the pair, whose romance has been going from strength to strength since they public with their relationship in June.

Abbie has already opened up about her plans to have children with her boyfriend Adam.

She revealed on her It's A Lot podcast, she recently got an IUD and Adam was considering having a vasectomy as the pair don't want to start a family anytime soon but are open to it in the future.

'So, I went to get an IUD because I don't want to get pregnant because I fear with Adam if I got pregnant, I probably would keep it and that would mean that our lives would change forever,' Abbie said.

She went on to say that she and Adam, the frontman of Australian band Peking Duk, are both financially ready for a child.

Abbie continued: 'If I get pregnant, we both have money, we are both old enough, we both own property. We're both like, fine.'

'There wouldn't be a reason to not, and we're both very in love and also, he's so emotionally mature and such an adult that he would be a good father.'

She admitted she had never thought about having a child until she met Adam.

'With Adam, I'd want to have his, I'd want to have his kids, like I cry all the time about wanting his children. And we both have amazing mums who would love us to have grandkids as well,' she said.
