Osher Günsberg has admitted he would be willing to do almost anything for money after Channel 10 axed two of his reality TV shows, The Masked Singer and The Bachelor, earlier this year.

The TV star was filling in for Dave Hughes on 2Day FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin on Tuesday when the team hooked him up to a lie detector test.

When asked if he would ever host Australian Idol again, he revealed 'at this point I will do most things for money.'

He added he was doing 'okay' despite not being officially employed by anyone.

'I'm okay, Audrey (Osher's wife) and I knew this was coming for a while... but that runway goes by deeper every day,' he told the hosts.

Günsberg continues to host his own podcast and revealed he is in the process of writing books.

When asked if he would prefer the Masked Singer to return over The Bachelor, he said he would choose The Masked Singer because he got a great fanfare on the singing contest.

'When I'd go to the Bachelor I had to be all quiet and whispery. When I show up to work on The Masked Singer, 20 dancers help me enter a room and fireworks go off while the crowd screams my name - I much prefer that,' he explained.

Günsberg addressed the cancellation of both shows on his podcast Better Than Yesterday in May.

'It's showbusiness, not show friends... The Bachelor and The Masked Singer in Australia are not coming back on the network that they have been on this year,' he said.

'This week is really very funny for me because it's not the first time that I've lost two jobs in the same day. To go back to Australian Idol, when that got cancelled, I was absolutely broken.'

According to TV Tonight, Warner Bros TV had been quietly 'gauging interest from rival networks' for The Masked Singer.

The singing guessing game is understood to be expensive to produce due to the elaborate costumes, high production quality and international talent required to put on the show.

This, coupled with a tough advertising market, has reportedly brought the viability of the franchise into question for Ten.
