Did Tinkerbell dot the I? Woman accuses Disney of 'gaslighting' her childhood as she makes shock discovery about famous logo

A controversy over an old Walt Disney animated introduction has sparked debate for years.

And now Kyle Sandilands' ex Imogen Anthony, 32, has weighed in on the debate, even claiming the famed company has 'gaslit' her childhood.

At the centre of the speculation is the iconic Disney character Tinkerbell.

The iconic fairy was seen in the short piece of film at the start of Disney productions flying over the Cinderella castle.

As the name Disney is spelled out, many fans remember Tinkerbell using her magic wand to 'dot' the 'i' on the famous brand.

However, TikTok users started to post videos in 2022 that claimed the intro, as people recall it, never really existed.

Taking to the platform, a TikTokker announced: 'Is Tinkerbell in the beginning of Disney movies?'

They continued: 'Fake. Based on everything that we know, this never actually happened. Disney did not release a video intro where Tinkerbell dots the I on the word Disney.

'Instead, people are likely combining several memories into one.'

Imogen shared the comment, first posted in September, 2022, to her Instagram stories on Tuesday after several users claimed they had 'evidence' that Tinkerbell did in fact 'dot' the 'i'.

'This is not fake, she does dot the i,' posted one user, while another fan shot back: I have a VHS that says otherwise.'

Imogen then added: 'Gaslight'. The expression is used to refer to an experience in which a victim has been manipulated into believing in an event or experience that turns out to be fake.

Meanwhile, many users differ with Imogen and are convinced the naysayers are wrong.

'I remember this intro from around 25yrs ago. It was on all the Disney videos not CD or Blu-ray...videos,' a Disney fan shared.

Another contemporary of Imogen posted: 'It did happen, I saw this as a child, I'm 35 and I saw this when I was 5... before Google was born.'

Imogen and her ex-boyfriend Kyle Sandilands, 53, were together for eight years but he never popped the question to the former model.

The media titan announced his shock split from the Big Brother VIP star on The Kyle and Jackie O Show in November 2019.

She later married her boyfriend Harley Jones in November 2022 in Las Vegas.
