Hugh Jackman has shared a video of an Australian man who lost a bet - and had to get his name tattooed on his behind.

Footballer Aaron Woods placed the bet with Hugh's childhood mate Gus Worland, who co-hosts radio show The Rush Hour with Gus & Jude.

The pair had bet on the Roosters winning a football match earlier in the week - if the Roosters won, Woods had to get the tattoo.

They did in fact win, and Woods made good on the bet, heading to Bondi Ink Tattoo in Sydney's Bondi Beach on Monday to get the tattoo done.

Worland went along, having a laugh at how hairy Woods' behind was, with the process of having it shaved causing hilarity.

The inking was documented for the radio show's Instagram page, and Woods showed off the result at the end.

Hugh captioned the footage with a tears of joy emoji.

Worland and Jackman are best mates, and Jackman all too happily posted the video to his own Instagram Stories on Monday.

Jackman and Ryan Reynolds hilariously hijacked the popular Australian radio show during their Deadpool & Wolverine promotion last week.

Aussie actor Hugh, 55, was left disappointed when they were unable to fit in a trip Down Under to their jam-packed press schedule for the latest Marvel action movie.

But that didn't stop him from hilariously surprising his best friend of 50 years Worland live on his Triple M and LiSTNR radio show The Rush Hour on Friday.

Gus and his co-host, former AFL star Jude Bolton, opened up the airwaves for calls from listeners, only for Wolverine star Hugh to chime in from the other end of the line.

The radio hosts were left in stitches as Hugh picked up the call and joked that the only way he could speak to Gus was by calling him at his workplace.

They then quizzed Hugh on who is best friend really is, as he and his co-star Ryan, 47, have become known for declaring themselves as BFFs during their promotional tour.

Reassuring Gus, Hugh insisted: 'I might say in front of the camera that we are best mates, but you know I don't mean it.'

To which Gus hit back with: 'I hope you don't mean it, I'm getting a bit jealous to be fair.'

Hugh then got involved as he insisted he had only befriended Ryan because of his impressive bank balance.

He quipped: 'Gussy, I'm not shallow at all, but have you seen how much money Ryan has? It's like another league!'

Hugh and Gus have been close friends ever since first meeting at the age of five when they were paired up by their teacher at Pymble Public School in the 1970s

Their friendship has lasted more than five decades and the pair often enjoy nights out and holidays together.
