Gemma Atkinson has been forced to hit back at fans as they claim she is making them 'feel utterly s***' by showing off her toned abs in a postpartum body update on Instagram on Monday.

The former glamour model, 39, welcomed her second child Thiago last July with Strictly star Gorka Marquez, 33. They are also parents to daughter Mia, five.

In a new video, Gemma showed off her figure in before and after shots as she revealed she has been getting back into shape following welcoming her son.

The clip kicked-off with a throwback video of the presenter which she revealed was taken '2 weeks postpartum' as she displayed her midriff in a grey crop top and tracksuit bottoms.

The video then transition to Gemma displaying her toned figure now as she worked out in her lavish home gym wearing a green sports bra and leggings.

She wrote: 'Small changes daily, consistency, time and patience. You CAN feel like yourself again. Keep going. Do NOT give up on yourself.'

However, not all of Gemma's fans appreciated the motivational post as one said she 'feels utterly s*** about her body' because its not easy to 'snap back' when you don't have 'time or a home gym and personal trainer'.

The follower wrote: 'I love this, but it also makes people like me who are also on their 2nd baby and don't have the time, energy, or a gym at home or a personal trainer, to 'snap back' like you have, feel utterly s*** about the now state of their body.

'We're expected to look like we did pre pregnancy because of social media telling everyone how easy it is and how if you haven't lost all the weight then it's because you can't be arsed or your not trying hard enough. I'd love to get back to my pre baby weight, even pre baby 2 weight instead of being fat shamed, but I just can't right now'.

Gemma responded to the fan offering some advice as she said she should focus on 'food choice' if she hasn't got time to exercise as it will 'make a huge difference' mentally.

The mother-of-two wrote: 'I'm sorry you feel that way. It took me time and I most definitely didn't snap back. I didn't with Mia either even though I was younger and fitter at the time. I couldn't even walk with the pram properly until 15 weeks with Mia due to her birth.

'If you can't get in the gym or haven't the energy to do YouTube vids at home my advice would be to focus on what you can control at the min which is food choice.

'There's foods that will help with your energy levels for sure. Even electrolytes throughout the day will massively help you. Once you start feeling better you'll be more inclined to want to make the time and once you start you'll feel a lot better. Even just 20 mins a day makes a huge difference to how someone feels mentally.'

In another comment, one fan asked how often she works out and Gemma replied: 'Gorka does my programs, I change them every 6 weeks. I aim to do 45 mins 5 times a week.

'Sometimes it doesn't happen with Mia and Thiago, especially when Gorka is away but that's the goal for me'.

In a third comment, a fan questioned how the star has the time to workout so much as they wished they could do the same.

Gemma revealed she has started to go to bed earlier to get up at 5am recently as Gorka is now busy with Strictly Come Dancing training ahead of the BBC show launch.

She added: 'It's hard, especially juggling life as well! I've had to get into the habit of going to bed an hour earlier and getting up at 4.45 to get it done (when Gorka's home I train mid morning as I work the afternoon and evening) but from now to Christmas it'll be 5am sessions for me.

'It's genuinely the only time I can do it so I priorities it because I know in the long run I'll benefit. Even just 20 mins in the morning will be Amazing for you though. Without the gym too! There's loads of hiit workouts and yoga on YouTube that are done in 15 / 20 mins. Will definitely be worth it once you get going with it x'.

It comes after Gorka praised Strictly for helping him build a family as the show battles a growing crisis of bullying and abuse claims.

The professional dancer and Gemma, who have been engaged since 2021, first met in 2017 when she was partnered with his co-star pal Aljaž Škorjanec

Despite both being on the show, the pair only got close with one another after the competition.

Gemma also revealed that partner Gorka creates a six week programme for her and she tried to workout for '45 mins 5 times a week'

While Strictly has been in turmoil following Amanda Abbington's bombshell interviews this week, Gorka called the show 'the best on earth'.

He told the Daily Star: 'Strictly has changed my life, if you look back and go back nine years ago, I came here to the UK for the first time to do Strictly, after never been here before, and now look at me now, I have a family, a partner, two children all because of Strictly.

'The romance between us didn't start until we did the tour, as on the show we only used to hang out first as a group and in rehearsals.

'But then we were on tour after the Strictly, we had more time and would say 'let's go for a coffee' or 'I'm going to the gym, can I come with you?' so then we ended up spending a lot of time together, we were like travelling every day to different cities.'

Gorka's comments come just days after Amanda claimed that Giovanni was trying to block the release of up to 50 hours of 'toxic' footage' following her bullying complaint to the BBC.

In an emotionally charged interview, the actress, 50, compared the dance show to 'the trenches' telling Channel 4 News that BBC producers had been left 'horrified' by clips that also allegedly exhibited 'humiliating behaviour of a sexual nature'.

The Sherlock star sensationally quit the dance competition last year citing 'personal reasons' before reports surfaced that she had demanded footage of her rehearsals after the experience with the show and her dance partner left her with PTSD.

Giovanni, who has strongly denied any threatening or abusive behaviour, stepped down from the show, with the BBC later launching a probe over claims of off-camera misconduct made by Amanda as well as other celebrities.

Yet in a dramatic twist in the Strictly saga, the actress claimed Giovanni tried to stop her legal team from accessing the video 'evidence' after producers were forced to put cameras in the dance studio after Amanda raised concerns.

'There's 50 hours of footage that's being blocked. You know, 50 hours is a lot of footage, and a lot of time spent in a room that was toxic,' she told presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy.

'It's out there. There is evidence out there of what happened in that room and I'm not the one who's blocking it. I've said anyone can watch it, but he (Giovanni) doesn't want anyone to see it, which is quite telling if he's got nothing to hide.'

A spokesperson for Giovanni told MailOnline: 'We would urge people to wait for the review's conclusion and not to pay heed to these very serious and defamatory allegations that have no evidence in support of them.'
