Brittany Cartwright leans on pal Scheana Shay after estranged husband Jax Taylor checks into mental health facility - as controversial former Vanderpump Rules star reacts to news

Brittany Cartwright leaned on her pals following news that her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, checked himself into a mental health facility.

The reality TV star, 35, shared a snap of herself with Scheana Shay and Marciano Brunette at Jax's bar, Jax's Studio City, to her Instagram stories on Tuesday.

Brittany flashed a bright smile as she posed next to Scheana for the selfie.

That same day it was reported that Jax, 45, checked into rehab to focus on his mental health, amid his separation from Brittany.

Meanwhile their controversial former Vanderpump Rules co-star Rachel Leviss, 29, shared a message of support for Jax, while simultaneously taking a swipe at how he reacted when she checked into a mental health treatment facility last year.

Brittany also shared a lovely snap of herself in an orange dress while standing on a vast lawn with a view of the sunset behind her the next day.

She then proceeded to launch her TikTok account that day, with a video featuring her Valley co-stars, Michelle Saniei Lally, Nia Sanchez, Janet Caperna and Jasmine Goode as well as her girlfriend Melissa Marie.

The group lip-synched to audio that said, 'We are back baby… we are f****g back … we're back!' Lastly she shared a quick video with The Valley co-star Kristen Doute.

Cartwright has not publicly addressed Jax's decision to seek treatment.

Meanwhile, Leviss wrote a message of support to Jax via Instagram, while also seemingly hitting back at some things he previously said about her seeking help.

'I am deeply saddened to hear of Jax’s mental health struggles and I wholeheartedly support his decision to seek treatment. I pray that his news is met with the open-mindedness that mine lacked, as I faced mockery and accusations of simply being in a spa,' she shared in a video note.

'I hope he finds the healing that I did through my own journey. This situation highlights the urgent need for mental healthcare and accessible treatment for reality TV stars.'

Leviss and Taylor met on season 5 of Vanderpump Rules in 2017 when she joined the cast as a guest star.

After her affair with co-star Tom Sandoval was made public, Leviss checked herself into a mental health treatment facility.

At the time Jax shared during an episode of Heather McDonald’s 'The Juicy Scoop' podcast that he hoped Leviss was 'getting the help she needs' and not just spending time at a 'hotel.'

On Wednesday, Jax shared a post about his decision to check into a mental health facility.

He shared a photo of him kissing his and Brittany's three-year-old son Cruz. 'Working on getting better for you buddy, I love you,' he wrote in the caption.

The Vanderpump Rules alum is 'seeking in-patient treatment' for his 'mental health struggles' according to TMZ.

'Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast,' a representative for the reality star shared.

'He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.'

Jax recently hinted at seeking help and healing on Instagram, sharing a Buddhist quote.

'Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and be brave enough to ask for it,' the quote he shared over the weekend read.

On Monday, he also posted a story with a caption that read 'Healing' and showed two books, one titled 'Get Out of Your Mind & Into Your Life' and another one titled, 'Set Boundaries, Find Peace.'

Jax has been open about his mental health struggles, after his February split from Cartwright.

In June, he shared on their podcast 'When Reality Hits' that he started therapy to manage his emotions.

'I'm like, "This is what's wrong with me, and this is what I'm doing, and this is who l'm attacking. And I have serious, serious anger issues, and I have a child, and I don't want him to see me act like that.'

That same month Brittany revealed the reasons why she separated from Jax and moved out of their matrimonial house on the season finale of The Valley on Bravo.

Brittany said she left with Cruz and moved into an AirBnb because the situation at home was toxic, and that Jax would come with a hangover and in the morning would be 'mean as a snake.'

'I just hit this point where I just started noticing everything that he did to me,' Brittany said. 'It just hit me like a ton of bricks.'

Brittany said during their relationship that Jax cheated on her, disrespected her and humiliated her.

Brittany had moved out of their $1.9 million Valley Village home after nearly five years of marriage.

Jax recently shared that misses his family 'a lot' while speaking with TMZ.

When asked if he would call himself single, he replied, 'Britanny and I are separated, and we're just trying to figure it out. I don't know what you want to call it.'

He then stated that he is not 'dating' at this time.

Cartwright also shared in April that her 'sexless marriage' with Jax made her hit her 'breaking point' and admitted they've discussed dating other people amid separation, saying 'I don't want to be unhappy for the rest of my life.'

In an interview with Us Weekly, the Vanderpump Rules alum said that her and Taylor's sex life had 'dwindled so much' in recent years and that it began to affect her self esteem.

'I felt like I wasn't good enough. If you start to feel like your partner doesn't want you and they're also being mean to you, it's like, 'What am I doing here?' I'm basically living with a roommate. I hit my breaking point,' she explained.

Last month on an episode of their podcast, Jax revealed he and his spouse are, still, 'trying to exhaust everything' before considering divorcing.

'We are trying to exhaust everything before we have to go down the divorce road — if that would be the case,' he told listeners. 'Part of taking some time apart means exploring other people. All marriages are different, but this is what is good for our marriage.'

Brittany previously reconciled with Jax in 2017 after it was revealed that he had cheated on her with their costar Faith Stowers.

She said she ‘stuck by him’ through their tumultuous times but said continuous fighting in front of their young son was the final straw for her to break away.
