Richard Wilkins revealed that colleague Karl Stefanovic and his wife Jasmine have quite a proclivity when partying.

Speaking with son Christian Wilkins on their The Apple & The Tree Podcast, the Channel Nine entertainment guru recalled an impromptu party that Jasmine threw while she and Karl were staying at Richard's $5million North Shore family house.

'I remember when Jas and Karl were staying with us, they were keeping a secret from the world,' Richard, 70, said.

'She decided to spontaneously invite friends over and they were all dancing on the coffee table.'

Richard continued admitting that it was anything but a small soiree, with a whopping 1400 people attending the house party.

'I remember saying the next morning, "You guys just make yourselves at home and Christian said, "Dad, she had about 1400 people over yesterday!"'

Christian, 28, admitted that the gathering was so large, he felt like a stranger in his own house.

'I remember coming home and walking in to the bar and someone being like, "Can I help you?", and I was like, "No actually, this is my house!"'

Christian recently revealed how he deals with social media trolls.

The aspiring actor explained he responds to criticism by showing a lack of interest in their cruel comments.

'I like to go back with indifference or agreeing,' he said on Nova's Separate Bathrooms podcast.

'One time someone told me I should audition for the Muppets because I had a big nose, so I tagged my manager and told him he was going to get fired because this man is trying to get me jobs.'

Despite his sense of humour, Christian admitted it's difficult when trolls say cruel things about his family.

'When they attack your family it does hurt much more,' he said.

Christian recently revealed he is stepping out from his father's shadow and finding his own fame.

He said in a recent issue of Stellar magazine he's no longer living in the shadow of his father.

'I'm so close with my dad, but it's also stepping out from his shadow,' he told the magazine.

'I think people look at me and are like, "Oh, there actually is a place for him as an individual".

'It's not just being someone's son. I have something to provide for myself and I think that is really exciting. I find that very rewarding.'

'I remember coming home and walking in to the bar and someone being like: 'can I help you?', and I was like: 'no actually, this is my house,' Christian said
