Abbie Chatfield backpedals on plans to enter politics and says her ADHD is to blame for earlier comments on her parliamentary aspirations: 'I just yap'

Abbie Chatfield has pulled back on her earlier claim that she might give politics a go.

The Masked Singer star, 29, is well known for her outspoken and progressive views, but told her fans this week that she won't be heading for parliament any time soon.

'Apparently, I said in some sort of context I was going to enter into politics,' she said on Instagram Stories on Friday.

'But I'm going to be honest, this ADHD chook; I just yap. I don't know what context I said this in. I don't know if it was a joke.

'I just want to let you all know that I am not considering entering politics.'

Abbie added: 'These are the trials and tribulations of having ADHD in (the) media.'

Earlier this month, Abbie said she would consider becoming a politician if her career in reality TV fell through.

'Recently I was like, 'maybe I should go into politics', but I'm tired. Maybe if FBoy Island Australia Season Three doesn't happen!' Abbie told The Sydney Morning Herald.

Chatfield added she got her strong liberal values from being raised by her mother in a single parent household.

'It shocks me that people are still living like it's 1954, the women cleaning and the men carving the meat. My mum's a really intelligent, vocal, progressive woman.

'Growing up with her, we'd watch the news and she'd go, 'Isn't it awful the way these women are being treated?' There was constant conversation. It helped me refine my debating skills.'

The brunette beauty then revealed the hilarious words she would like engraved on her tombstone: 'A QR code with 'Stream FBoy Island, Season Two right now'.'

Chatfield earlier revealed her huge pay slip for hosting season two of the Binge dating series FBoy Island Australia, and how it compares to her other jobs.

The Bachelor star explained in a series of TikTok videos that while hosting reality television shows can be lucrative, the amount of money earned 'isn't as much as you'd think'.

'It's a lot of money. Like, it's a lot of f**king money, particularly for a chookie from Brisbane who didn't have a car to learn how to drive in when I was in high school,' she said.

In another video, Abbie explained that while her TV and radio jobs offers can offer substantial rewards, the commitment may not be worth it especially considering the potential earnings from social media.

'The money you get offered to do a TV gig, if you compare it to the time and energy it takes to get the same amount on social media, it's not really worth it,' she added.

'To host a whole season, which is months and months of work – there's still pre -production and post-production. And the hectic period before the weeks leading up to it [filming], with fittings and talking about casting and talking about dates and having calls with producers.'
