Abbie Chatfield shared a video of herself discussing her 'heartbreak' over a 'cheating' video of Adam Hyde, but all wasn't as it initially seemed.

The Bachelor star, 29, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a video of her boyfriend Adam, asking her fans 'is this cheating?' in a caption.

The video first showed a clip of Adam being fed an entire egg from a mystery person sitting across the table, before Abbie revealed her reaction to the 'cheating' incident.

She broke down in tears as she told how she was 'heartbroken' upon seeing the footage, with many of her fans not realising she was actually joking.

Abbie was forced to clarify that she was feigning the tears and doesn't really think him being fed an egg by his Peking Duk bandmate Reuben Styles is cheating.

'I am so shocked I have to say this but this is a joke,' after many fans took her 'cheating' accusations seriously upon seeing the video.

In the video, Abbie feigned tears and pretended to be 'heartbroken' over the video, telling her fans that dating a touring musician is not all it's cracked up to be.

'Adam and I have an agreement that when he's on tour - obviously dating is very stressful because when they're on tour you think like what's the worst they can do, what are they going to get up to,' she said.

'I'm actually heartbroken seeing this because it's like, we had an agreement that I said to him when I first started dating that when they're on tour, I really don't want him to be fed whole eggs by Reuben anymore!

'I just don't get why he would do that! And then to post it on social media, I don't get why he would allow Reuben to feed him a whole egg to swallow whole, like it's our thing.

'I don't get it, it's stressful dating a musician guys, it's not what you think it is.'

In a caption, she added: 'I can't believe he has done this. Is this cheating?'

Abbie went on to reveal she was hit by accusations of being 'insecure' and 'controlling' by fans who didn't realise she wasn't being serious.

Abbie later took to her Instagram Stories to jokingly reassure her 479,000 followers that her and Adam had made up after the supposed lover's quarrel.

She shared a screenshot of her latest text to him, which read: 'I love you so much baby, and I forgive you for the egg.'

Adam is currently touring with his electronic music bandmate Reuben and the pair are next set to take to the stage on August 9 in Fortitude Valley.

The Peking Duk duo are also set to perform in Sydney on August 10, before jetting off to the likes of Airlie Beach and Douglas later in the month.

Abbie confirmed her romance with singer Adam earlier this year after weeks of speculation, and they have been going strong ever since.

She frequently shares loved-up pictures and tributes to him on social media, while he has also featured on her It's A Lot podcast to discuss their romance.

Earlier this month, Abbie sweetly told Stellar Magazine that her relationship with Adam is the best she's ever had.

'It isn't like other people I've had flings with. And this is gonna sound a bit w**ky, but he's had a bigger career than me,' she said amid concerns from fans that Adam is 'using her' for fame.

'I don't think he's using me for anything. He's successful in his own right. I think I'm cool for being with him, not the other way around.'

Abbie was friends with Adam for two years before they started dating, which she said has added to the trust between them.

'I guess with Adam it's different, because I trust the strength of our relationship. But also, us hanging out isn't a big, new thing. We've been hanging out publicly for years,' she said.
