Jessica Simpson teases new music as she poses in boho chic duster at recording studio - after opening up about sobriety

It appears Jessica Simpson is gearing up to drop new music.

The Irresistible artist, 44, teased something in the works on Thursday as she posed for a photo outside of Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles.

She served a boho chic look in a pink lace slip dress with a red printed duster and knee-high shimmering gold boots.

Simson finished the look with a pair of gold sunglasses and a turquoise necklace.

Captioned only with a musical note emoji, Simpson's post comes after she previously teased a new project.

In December, she shared, 'I'm feelin' extra grateful today for excitin' new opportunities and inspirin' meetings regardin' music and new entertainment endeavors.'

Simpson previously explained how the children she shares with husband Eric Johnson - daughters Maxwell 'Maxi' Drew, 12, Birdie Mae, five, and son Ace Knute, 11 - inspired her to return to performing.

'I'm doing this as a mother now, as a wife. I was a wife last time, but this is a very different marriage,' she told Bustle in July 2023.

The Dukes of Hazzard actress noted that her kids have 'never seen' her perform live, explaining Maxwell saw her first concert with Kim Kardashian's daughter North West.

'I have my daughter taking a private plane with North West to go see Katy Perry in Vegas,' said Simpson. 'And inside I'm like: "She was supposed to see me first."

'Then I'm like: "This is not competitive, Jessica. Let your daughter enjoy Katy Perry." But there's moments that make me want to do it - for them to see that color of me,' she added.

After releasing her last album Happy Christmas in 2010, Simpson said, 'It boggles my mind that I've stayed relevant and that people are curious, because I have not entertained. I have not entertained at all.'

In September, Simpson explained to People that she took time off from her career to focus on her family after marrying Johnson, 44, in 2014.

'I was too nervous to go back to my career until I felt my kids were confident enough in school and in life,' she said in September. 'I wanted to be a mom first.'

After spending the summer working on new music in Nashville, Simpson said her kids are 'very excited, and they know that I'm living my dream and that's what I was born to do.

'To have them experience that with me is going to be really beautiful,' said Simpson.

Earlier this month, Simpson opened up about her sobriety after an online troll told her to stop drinking.

'I haven’t wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017 and it has been the best decision I've made for myself and for my family,' she wrote.

'Thank you for your concern, but you have me very misunderstood,' added Simpson. 'Sending love your way.'
