Robert Irwin has moved people to tears with his resemblance to his late father, Steve Irwin.

The 20-year-old media personality and son of the late Crocodile Hunter is currently on a crocodile tracking expedition in far north Queensland

'We're out on the boat and looking for signs of crocodiles,' Irwin said on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday.

After a few false starts trying to film myself whilst struggling to get the boat engine started, the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Outta Here host admitted defeat.

'I'll just cut to it already started so it looks like we got it the first go,' he joked.

Boat started, Robert then shared his determined journey to find crocodiles.

The video, shared with the conservationist's 6 million followers, struck a chord with fans.

'Never reminded me more of your Dad than in this video!' read one comment that garnered hundreds of likes. 'Very cool to see this.'

'Just like your dad! I could watch and listen to him say "Alright" all day,' said another.

'Seriously, these videos make me want to cry. They remind me of Steve so so so much,' said another. 'I'm so grateful Robert's like him.'

Robert was  just four when he started starring in his family's documentaries and landed a role in the Spongebob movie aged 12.

He is widely considered to be the living continuation of The Crocodile Hunter's legacy.

Steve Irwin was maybe the most globally recognisable Australian of the past 30 years, but the fame was always in service of his passion for wildlife.

'He’s not around anymore to push his message,' Robert told GQ Australia in December when he accepted the Social Force of the Year Award. 'Now it’s my job.'

On TikTok and Instagram, where Robert has a combined 11 million followers, he has proven himself a natural on-camera, showcasing his earnest nature when interacting with animals.

Although his profile has scaled to new heights since he scored a Gold Logie nomination this year, after co-hosting his first prime time gig on the 2024 season of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! Australia with Julia Morris.

'Did you see the blue butterfly?' a third asked, referencing the spiritual belief that loved-ones who have passed away often present themselves in the form of a butterfly to guide their family. 'Dad is with you.'

'Your mum must be so proud. Brings tears to my eyes to see how much you are like your dad,' another passionate fan wrote. 'The world misses him.'

The reality TV host has been reported as the 'hot favourite' to win this year's Gold Logie at the 64th annual TV Week Logie Awards on August 18.
