'Please f**k off': Bikini-clad Kesha sends a message to body shamers as she sunbathes in pool

She faced her demons in the spotlight two years ago, having checked into rehab for an eating disorder not long after releasing a hit single.

And Kesha had a strongly worded message for body shamers on Sunday.

The Tik Tok singer, 29, instructed the haters to 'please f**k off' in a bikini-clad snap of herself lounging in a pool.

'not a slave to perfection right now,' Kesha wrote in the caption. 'f**k it. ***body shamers please f**k off ain't nobody got time for it.'

In the image, the bikini-clad star laid flat on her belly in the shallow depths of a pool.

Her legs kicked up into the air, the Die Young singer wore a pair of retro style sunglasses and had her blonde hair slicked over her head.

'@lhorizonpalmsprings in my skivvies,' read the remainder of the caption, indicating she was sunbathing at L'Horizon Resort Palm Springs.

Kesha has publicly discussed her eating disorder battle, a fight which eventually led her to check into rehab in 2014.

Last year, the hit-maker told Vogue: 'I've had a lot of ups and downs. It's been quite a journey. I went to a dark place.

'There was a lot of not eating - and I started to think being hungry to the point of feeling almost faint was a positive thing.'

After talking to her therapist about what she was going through, she called her mother so they could seek help. Kesha checked herself into a rehab facility in the Chicago area in January 2014.

'I realized being healthy is the most important thing I can do for myself. Now, I'm trying to embrace the skin I'm in. It's difficult sometimes.

'Every day I have to look in the mirror and make the choice to be kind to myself. This is who I am—I have to love that.'

Now Kesha is in a very different legal fight with Sony and Dr. Luke.

On Monday, Kesha's legal team filed paperwork to appeal the judge's decision to withhold the contract with Dr Luke, real name Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald.

'First, the Court erred in basing its decision on its finding that Kesha could record without interference from Gottwald,' the papers stated, according to Billboard

'Although it recognized that "slavery was done away with a long time ago" and that "[y]ou can't force someone to work... . in a situation in which they don't want to work," the Court's ruling requiring Kesha to work for Gottwald's companies, purportedly without his involvement, does just that.'

On Friday, fans of the pop star called on the record label to cut ties with the producer she has accused of raping her.

Dozens arrived at Sony's Manhattan headquarters to deliver petitions with more than 411,000 signatures demanding they release the singer, and drop Dr Luke - real name Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald - while they're at it.

Armed with 'Free Kesha Now' signs, the group chanted 'Do the right thing!' and 'People over profits!' as they danced to Kesha's songs.

Last month, Kesha sat in court sobbing as a judge denied a preliminary injunction that would have allowed her to record music outside of her six-album contract with Dr Luke.

Kesha filed a lawsuit in October 2014 against him which claims he drugged and raped raped her, and also controlled and psychologically abused her from the time she moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to pursue her music career to her breakthrough in 2010 and beyond.

The ad urges fans to 'tell Sony to drop Dr. Luke.'

Lady Gaga has also come to Kesha's defence in her legal battle, and on Monday Kesha wished the hit-maker a happy birthday with a puckered-up selfie.
