It's been a long time since fans have seen Kesha truly happy.
But in the teaser video for True Colors released on Thursday, the beleaguered singer allows herself a precious smile.
On Friday the 29-year-old will release her first new track in three years with Russian EDM DJ Zedd.

On Thursday night the singer teased the new vid on her Facebook page, which within just five hours had racked up 3.5k comments, 52k likes and 1.2million views.
'This is more than a song. it's a declaration of my truth #truecolors,' she captioned the 40-second clip.

The video sees her flashing a rarely-seen smile as she runs through a rose garden wearing a jewel and pearl-encrusted sheer leotard, her pastel pink hair flowing behind her.
Kesha has not released any music since becoming embroiled in a dramatic legal bid to escape from her contract with Sony, after she accused producer Dr Luke of drugging and raping her.

Her former musical collaborator - whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald - denies the charge, claiming she is just trying to weasel out of her contract.
In February a judge in New York denied her request for a preliminary injunction that would allow her to record without him.
Several recording artists have since come together to offer Kesha support, including Zedd, who reached out via Twitter, and offered to 'produce a song' for her.

'Very very sorry to hear about the whole situation. I'll be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help,' he wrote.
During both Coachella weekends, the DJ brought the singer out as a special surprise guest to perform the song during his Saturday night headline sets.
Zedd announced the collaboration earlier this week, but made sure to let everyone know it was legally above board on Twitter.
'Just to clarify: We didn’t use any loop holes. Kemosabe / RCA gave us permission to release this song!' he wrote.
