Mel B says 'weak men are so pathetic' as she speaks out about domestic abuse... two years after split from ex-husband Stephen Belafonte

Mel B said she still believes 'weak men are pathetic', 22 years after making the statement.

The singer, 44, who said she hated 'weak men and salads' back in 1997, detailed the impact domestic abuse can have during a candid interview with Grazia

Mel also teased a Spice Girls reunion could well be in the pipeline, with the songstress saying she text her fellow bandmates earlier this week in a bid to persuade them to get back together once more.

Mel told the publication: 'Weak men are so pathetic, for a start, they thrive off a woman’s insecurity, and that’s where a lot of abusive relationships can start: very subtle and coercive.

She added: 'But you shouldn’t confuse vulnerability with weakness. Vulnerability is a beautiful thing. But weakness? Terrible.’

Mel was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after she accused her ex husband Stephen Belafonte, 44, of emotional and physical abuse during their 10-year marriage - something which he has always vehemently denied.

Mel and Stephen separated in December 2016, with the television presenter accusing Belafonte of 'emotional and physical abuse'.

The Wannabe hitmaker has been single for three-and-a-half years  and 'hasn't really ventured too much into the dating world, but that is my choice,' adding it isn't her priority right now.

'I am always going to hold a candle that we can get back on stage together’, she said. 'I’ve always supported that, and it worked because we all did it this year together, Well, four of us, I even sent a text this week to everyone saying, “Come on, are we going to do something again or what?” We need to.’

It comes after Emma, exclusively told MailOnline there's definitely more to come from the Spice Girls.

'Stuff is bubbling under,' she teased. 'We are all mothers. We know it's important to be with our children. And we are four different personalities.'

Emma kept the precise details vague - admitting that 'I wish I could say more' - but teased: 'We have talked about new music. I wish I could say more. We are looking at co-writers. We are looking to do this animation project next year.

'I talk to the girls all the time, we're letting it bubble away.'
