The UK might be chilly right now, but the much-talked-about heatwave is coming – and it's coming soon.
For weeks we've been reporting about the potential of a “heat dome” and soaring temperatures hitting the entire country. And since then . . . we've had nothing but rain and “Autumn-like weather”.
However the experts at Exacta Weather are now more certain than ever before that things are about to chance, and have even warned us all to “get the barbecues ready”.

In their latest report, Exacta's James Madden claims that we're soon going to be battling heat from upwards of 35c, possibly topping 40c. In their latest update, Madden said: “Get the barbecues at the ready, as a big change and some big heat are now set to arrive on cue!
“The expected and well-promised pattern change for July 10–20, particularly July 15–17, is now on and imminent for some very hot to potentially extreme heat, which is now on the horizon for many parts of the country within the next several days.
The overnight and latest GFS runs have now also intensified, bringing earlier hot weather and potentially extreme heat to our shores within this same period in July, particularly for in and around the 17th July, when it could become exceptionally hot for large parts of the UK and Ireland, and from as early as next weekend will see things starting to warm up as summer returns.
“This major heat surge is now fully expected . . . there is now absolutely no reason why this developing scenario won't produce temperatures in the mid- to high 30s in places and 30C+ elsewhere at the peak of this heat for in and around mid-July and over a several-day period or more, at the very least from later next week onwards.”
The date is backed by other weather services, with Netweather's maps suggesting that the heatwave will commence on July 12, with the mercury potentially hitting a sizzling 29C around London and the south coast, including Brighton, Chichester, Dover, and Newhaven, by July 15.
Somerset and Dorset might experience slightly cooler temperatures between 24C and 26C, while cities like Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool could see highs between 25C and 27C. However, in Devon and Cornwall, temperatures along the coast could be a tad lower, ranging between 17C and 21C.
In Scotland, the highest temperatures are predicted to be somewhat cooler, varying from 14C in northern coastal areas to between 22C and 25C in the warmest spots on the east coast. Wales could also witness a range of temperatures, from 17C in coastal regions to a high of 26C in the north and south.
