It's official – Nigella Lawson loves eating chicken nuggets.

The 64-year-old celebrity chef is renowned for her homely cuisine. But the posh cook has coughed to liking the kids’ staple dinner.

However, she likes them with spicy mayonnaise, not tomato ketchup.

Nigella gushed: “Ostensibly a meal for children, but I still find them very easy to pick at, too. Especially with sriracha mayo instead of ketchup.”

She shared her own recipe for her Ritzy chicken nuggets which makes up to 16 of them. The ingredients are two chicken breasts, 284ml of buttermilk, 150g of Ritz crackers crumbs, and 125ml of vegetable oil.

Her recipe takes two days to make because the chicken needs marinating in the buttermilk. But if you can't be bothered for the time and effort, Tesco sells 38 Birdseye Chicken Dippers for £3.50.

Who doesn't love chicken nuggets? Even Nigella Lawson's a fan!

Fans couldn't get enough of the family-friendly recipe. In response to Nigella's post, Cari Rosen said: “Forget the kids. A firm favourite in our house.”

Alex Pace added: “Chicken nuggets exceed childhood cuisine.” John Dolan said: “Beautiful and simple.”

Another foodie, called Marc, added: “Looks good enough for me, let alone children.” And a chap called Stephen joked: “Lovely but still not as nice as beans on toast.”

It's not the first time Nigella has caused a stir with her foodie opinions. Last year, she was mocked for saying she liked tucking into a simple bowl of Twiglets.

And back in 2020, she was ridiculed for jokily calling a ‘microwave’ a ‘mee-cro-wah-vay’. Her other controversial moments include putting caramel on potatoes and Marmite on spaghetti.
