Music fans have said a 90s hero now looks unrecognisable - comparing him to several fictional characters.
X User @rkidZoe took to the social media site to share a photo of herself alongside Richard Ashcroft, the former Verve frontman.
Formed in Wigan in Greater Manchester, back in 1990 by Richard, The Verve were an English rock band best known for their hits such as Bitter Sweet Symphony, Sonnet and She’s a Superstar.

The iconic band split in 1999, following the departure of guitarist Nick McCabe. The group later reformed from 2007-2009, including a headline set at Glastonbury.
Since then, Richard has enjoyed a solo career and still has a fanbase to this day.
Captioning her X post, ‘Music is Power’, a nod to one of Richard’s solo hits, Zoe’s photo has now been viewed over 80,000 times.
Whilst many were praising the singer for being a “legend” and a “class act”, others couldn’t help themselves by making a few jibes.
One X user @Thingeo said: “Always like him in shameless”, whereas @ChampagneSoops added: “Is that Frank Gallagher?”. @8xTrebleWinners said: “Frank Gallagher if he got a haircut.”
The comparisons didn’t stop there with a user asking if it was Dot Cotton from EastEnders and another saying it was Coronation Street’s, Ena Sharples. Several users claimed he looked like Howard Marks.
