Jake Paul has angrily blasted the “absurd” rumours surrounding his blockbuster fight with Mike Tyson.

The influencer boxer, 27, will face the heavyweight icon, who is 30 years his senior, at AT&T Stadium in Texas on July 20, with the being streamed on Netflix. There has been no official confirmation of the rules, with rumours abounding on social media as a result.

British heavyweight Derek Chisora has weighed in, claiming both fighters would wear head guards, as amateur fighters did until recently. He said: “So we're watching a sparring match. It's a f***ing joke.”

Meanwhile, on his BS w/Jake Paul podcast, he was played a clip of TikToker making outlandish claims that only Paul would be wearing headgear, and that he would be allowed to tag in and out with his brother Logan, WWE’s United States champion.

“It’s f***ing absurd. First of all, obviously, none of that’s true. They’re so f***ing stupid. Anybody who believes that s*** should not be allowed to vote.

“There should be these hidden tests throughout life that qualify you to be able to vote or not. The fact these people are able to drive around on our streets, they’re out there driving car, they’re dumb as f***.

“It’s sad, we live in a f***ed up world. Humans are getting more and more stupid every single day, it’s crazy.”

Nakisa Bidarian, Paul's business partner, has also rejected suggestions the pair will wear headgear. He wrote on Instagram recently: “Unequivocally there is no headgear for Paul vs Tyson, haters spreading fake news but it won't stop the 10s of millions of views.”

As for the number of rounds, it is unlikely Tyson will agree to more than eight, which is how many he fought against Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout four years ago.
