Dillon Danis has claimed he will appeal the result of his disqualification loss against Logan Paul.

The MMA star took on the YouTuber in what was his first boxing bout on Saturday (October 14), but lost by disqualification. The fight was abruptly ended when both the fighters' teams stormed the ring after Danis attempted to pull Paul down to the canvas via a headlock, in an embarrassing conclusion that left Paul with the bragging rights.

While the 28-year-old Paul picked up the win due to disqualification, he had outclassed Danis despite his own layoff of two years, after he last fought Floyd Mayweather in 2021. However, a couple of days after the bout, New Jersey native Danis took to X to announce his intention to appeal his loss on the grounds of "multiple offences".

His full post read: "There was multiple offenses I’ll be submitting my appeal to the commission today." Danis' post quoted a video of one of Paul's security guards entering the ring during the sixth round of their bout.

Fans on social media had their say on whether the 30-year-old has legitimate qualms about the result of the fight as one X user wrote: "Omgosh did you see how much of an interference and impact he had on the fight after stepping in! I'm so angry".

Another fan commented: "Logan should have been disqualified in this match and Dillon should have won this is absolutely unfair". Despite the loss, Danis has stayed upbeat and paid tribute to long-time training partner Conor McGregor for "having his back".

He wrote: "Just an appreciation post for my brother. I have learned so much from him in my life and he always has had my back through everything. He is the greatest fighter of our generation and I'm blessed to call him my brother. I could go on for paragraphs about what this man has done for me but just wanted to say, love you, my G. Got your back till the end"

McGregor, 34, replied to him giving him credit for the promotion of the event as he said: "Proud of you Dillon! You built that card tremendously and went out swinging! 4x jiu jitsu world champion with the bottle to go into Pro boxing in front of the world. Chalk it up to the first time ever in history that has been done!"
