EMA Celebrating i-MESC: 20 Years of Educating Future Energy Experts

The Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA) was invited to participate in the 20th Anniversary event of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Interdisciplinarity in Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion (i-MESC) on the 3rd of July in Amiens, France. EMA was represented by Vice-President, Ruturaj Trivedi and i-MESC Programme Representative, Kaouther Touidjine. The occasion served to celebrate the remarkable journey of the programme gathering and connecting current and former students, as well as partners of the i-MESC consortium

Previously known as the Master in Energy Storage and Conversion (MESC) programme -now known as i-MESC, the two decades of this milestone reflect educational excellence and innovation in the field of energy storage and conversion. The MESC Master programme was initiated in 2004 as an educational endeavour of the Alistore Network of Excellence. In 2005, it earned the recognition of being an Erasmus Mundus Master Programme for the first time. Over the years, the programme has continually evolved, securing funding and recognition as an Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in 2010 and transforming into MESC+ in 2018. More recently, in 2023, the programme was rebranded as i-MESC, continuing its tradition of excellence with recognition as an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master until 2029.

Ms Touidjine, EMA Programme Representative for i-MESC, presented her inspiring career path and highlighted the significant impact that the i-MESC programme has had on her professional development. By sharing her experiences and insights, she hopes to inspire current students and alumni to realize their potential and contribute to the growing field of energy storage and conversion.

The i-MESC consortium wishes to motivate students and alumni to join the EMA community portal, fostering a network of professionals dedicated to advancing knowledge and innovation in the energy sector.
