Meet the team

Our team, located in London and Brussels, and with representation in Italy, Spain and France is responsible for the day-to-day running of the association’s affairs, such as arrangements of council meetings, events management and marketing, maintaining the website, and communicating with members.

ETOA has an Board & Advisory council and its own Constitution.

CEO

Tom Jenkins

Tom has been CEO of ETOA for twenty years. Tom ensures ETOA’s financial viability and oversees the strategic development of all ETOA projects and practices. This includes keeping ETOA at the forefront of travel industry matters and reporting back to the membership on developments at a European level.
Director General

Tim Fairhurst

Tim manages ETOA’s lobbying activities at EU, national and local levels, ensuring its non-commercial activity, from expert seminars to market research, matches member needs and policy priorities. He heads ETOA’s office in Brussels, liaising closely with industry partners, working groups and country representatives in destination.

Sean Taggart

Sean is responsible for all of ETOAs commercial activity. He also oversees the internal finance function and is directly responsible for membership growth and retention.

Rachel has two roles: Firstly to drive business improvement through system development that measurably improves the ability of our team to focus on frontline delivery. Secondly, to lead ETOA’s research and insight programme, by leveraging industry and partner analytics to support member benefits, lobbying, media messaging and ETOA’s vision of Better Tourism in Europe.

Arran is responsible for overseeing all of ETOA’s event activities, including the delivery of its portfolio of annual matchmaking workshops. He also drives the Celestina white-label event services programme and coordinates ETOA’s role in European-level project work.

Jay leads tour operators and technology. His role is to increase ETOA’s international visibility and representation, specifically developing the German speaking, Nordic & non-European markets. Paul Draper

Paul is responsible for the smooth running of our IT and office systems and infrastructure. He is the main point of contact for all non-Salesforce external system and communication providers, and takes responsibility for the cybersecurity of the organisation.

Elisa’s role has the purpose to increase ETOA’s international visibility and representation, specifically targeting the Asia-Pacific markets. Policy Manager

Simon Smith

Simon manages ETOA’s activity and resources in response to policy and regulation affecting tourism, from local taxes and destination access to driving regulations and cross-border services, working closely with institutional stakeholders at European and national levels, and ETOA’s members and partners.
Marketing Manager

Nadia Falchi

Nadia assists the Marketing team with all aspects of the delivery of the marketing strategy. Her role includes preparing and distributing email communications, media monitoring, event website maintenance and setting up CRM campaigns.
Destination Engagement and Operations Manager

Alessia Di Marcantonio

Alessia manages ETOA’s activity in support of tourism operations in Europe, liaising with public and private sector stakeholders in destination and operators in all markets, developing and maintaining related online resources, and coordinating ETOA’s operational and destination-focused working groups.

Kathryn supports the Communications team in all areas of the business. She plays an important role in making sure email communication, and social media posts are created and sent in a timely manner. Kathryn also updates and improves the organisation’s website and external profile when required.

Abigail is the data and member service champion of the organisation. She is the primary point of contact for the day-to-day running of the CRM, and generates commercial metrics, dashboards and internal operating procedures.
Membership Support and CRM Assistant

Megha Patil

Megha is the first point of contact for general enquires and assistance requests from our members and prospects. She acts upon these enquires, usually within the Salesforce environment, so that members feel we have provided a good service in this area. Megha makes sure member data is up-to-date, accurate and complete in our system.
Sustainability Specialist

Beth works with our members and partners to enhance ETOA’s knowledge and action on sustainability, including our Climate Action Plan: measuring and reporting ETOA’s carbon footprint, developing resources for members to support transition to more sustainable practice, and tracking progress across our community.

Isata Bangurah

Isata supports ETOA members with general queries and ensures the production and dispatch of Tour Guide ID cards. She is also responsible for the smooth running of ETOA’s office.

Naz’s role is to support ETOA members with general membership and payment queries. Her role in the Member Engagement Team is to ensure all of our members receive support so that they can maximise their membership benefits and value.
