Virtual Webinar

(1) ticket is valid for all (4) days of the symposium.

This virtual event will be submitted for RACE Credits.

This symposium will focus on reduction, refinement, and replacement methods to improve laboratory animal welfare while maintaining or improving scientific results. Sessions will discuss opportunities to do more with less, refinement techniques in research that involve pain and distress, and how to use the 3Rs to improve efficiency and rigor. This symposium is jointly organized by the Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing, Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, the Department of Molecular and Comparative Pathobiology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the USDA’s Animal Welfare Information Center (AWIC) at the National Agricultural Library, and the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare, National Institutes of Health. The goal of the symposium is to bring together experts and practitioners to share information and discuss new and practical approaches to the 3Rs.

Sessions are designed for investigators, laboratory animal veterinarians, care staff, and IACUC members and staff. Residents, students, and postdocs are also welcome!

Please join us online as we learn from the speakers and each other! There will be opportunities built into the program for attendees to ask questions, comment, or offer suggestions.
