About this event

Learn about the historic and modern architecture, the Nobel legacy, and the advanced cancer, neuroscience, and plant research taking place right here each day. Our knowledgeable tour guides include Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Please arrive at 10 am sharp, tours begin on time!

If you're interested in touring The Laboratory with a group (15-20 people) please call (516) 367-8844 to book a private tour and discuss available times/dates, private tours are not booked through Eventbrite.

*ADVISORY: The tour route is primarily outdoors and takes place so long as the weather is walkable.

*If there is extreme weather (heavy rain, thunder, lightning, high winds etc.) we will contact attendees in the morning via Email to discuss how we will proceed (Cancel, postpone etc.). Please check your emails the evening before, and the morning of your tour to ensure it is still on. We will also post cancelation notices or updates to our social media accounts*

The tour includes areas of stairs and steep hills. It is not recommended for people who have difficulty walking. If you are not able to do a full walking tour, please contact us before booking at (516) 367-8844 to discuss potential accommodations.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the meeting point?

The tour begins in the lobby of Grace Auditorium at 10am. This is the first, large building on the left when you pull into campus off 25a. There is a parking lot adjacent to the auditorium. There are handicapped spots if needed.

Are there restrooms?

Yes. There are restrooms and water fountains in the basement of Grace Auditorium (the building where the tour begins). There are also restrooms at various locations along the walking route. Please ask your tour guide to stop if needed.

What happens if there is an emergency?

If there is a true emergency, please call campus security at 516-367-8870.

Where is my tour guide?

Tour guides are CSHL grad students who predominantly rely on public transit. If your group is in the lobby, and your guide is nowhere to be found, please give them 10 minutes to arrive. If there is a problem, please text (631) 662-1869 so the tour manager can contact your assigned guide.
